Norway's iconic detective - and one of the world's most beloved - is coming to the screen, as Netflix unveils the main trailer for Jo Nesbo's Detective Hole (Norwegian title: Jo Nesb s Harry Hole). Produced by Working Title, the series will premiere globally on Netflix on March 26.

Tobias Santelmann (Exit, The Last Kingdom) steps into the role of Harry Hole, with Pia Tjelta (Made in Oslo, State of Happiness) starring as Rakel Fauke. Joel Kinnaman (Altered Carbon, The Suicide Squad) steps into the shoes of Harry's rival, Tom Waaler.

Actor Tobias Santelmann: Harry Hole isn't just another detective - he is a character readers around the world have lived with for almost 30 years, and I am grateful for the opportunity to bring him to the screen. I approached this role with deep respect for Jo Nesb 's work and for the audience that has followed Harry for so long. At the same time, I had to find my Harry - or our Harry - and I hope we've created something that feels true to the spirit of the books while also standing on its own.

Actor Joel Kinnaman: Stepping into the role of Tom Waaler, Harry Hole's formidable adversary, has been an exciting challenge. Filming in Oslo, the city so deeply woven into Jo Nesb 's novels, brings an authenticity to the series that's impossible to replicate. Collaborating closely with Jo to explore this darker side of Harry's world has been a rewarding creative experience, and I'm so proud to help bring this story to the screen.

Actress Pia Tjelta: I've been a fan of Jo Nesb 's books for years, so stepping into this universe has been a real pleasure. Rakel Fauke is a character a lot of people hold very dear, and I feel fortunate to have the opportunity of bringing her to life on screen. Exploring the complicated relationship between Harry and Rakel, with Jo involved and this great team around us, has been a very meaningful experience for me.

With over 60 million books sold worldwide - including a staggering 5.6 million in Norway alone (more than the nation's population!) - Nesb 's novels have enthralled readers and defined the crime genre.

Created by one of the greatest storytellers in crime fiction, Jo Nesbo's Detective Hole, is a whodunnit serial killer mystery led by famed anti-hero Harry Hole. Underneath the surface, this series is a nuanced character drama about two police officers - and supposed colleagues - operating on opposite sides of the law. Throughout the season, Harry goes head-to-head with his long-time adversary and corrupt detective Tom Waaler. Harry is a brilliant but tormented homicide detective who struggles with his demons. As the two navigate the blurred ethical lines of the criminal justice system, Harry must do all he can to catch a serial killer and bring Waaler to justice before it is too late.
