Hungarian production companies have been in high demand over the last couple years with many productions choosing to film in Hungary and surrounding countries; many of these companies are making the Boxx Atom their first choice in wireless video solutions.
Recently Video Assist Hungary used several Boxx Atom systems on a production they were filming in Jordan where the filming conditions were extreme to say the least. Istvan Arvai, DIT on set and co-owner of Video Assist Hungary spoke to Boxx about working in the harsh desert environment and their experience with using the Boxx Atom system:
We have been using Boxx products for years because we appreciate the high picture quality and the minimal latency. The new Boxx product, the Atom, is just like its name; small, but really strong at the same time. All the good qualities can be found in this small product that gives great support to the on-set work of both video assist and DIT. The Boxx Atom is an amazing system that can handle even the harshest of conditions. We were working in an environment where the average temperature was 35 degrees celsius with wind and sand that would typically cause major issues with other wireless systems but the Boxx Atom handled the job perfectly. It worked really well in multiple camera car chase scenes too, even when we were speeding. We were also really impressed with the range of the system; it often exceeded the range reported by the manufacturer. One of the key benefits of using the (Boxx) Atom system is that it allows us to manually change the channels quickly allowing us to choose the right frequency for every situation.
With more productions filming in Hungary this year the Boxx Atom systems there are looking at a long, hot summer of filming ahead of them.
