TV Cultura Adds a Half Dozen Grass Valley LDX Cameras for Enhanced News Production

MONTREAL, March 26, 2015 S o Paulo-based TV Cultura has been relying on solutions from Grass Valley, a Belden Brand, to provide overall operational excellence in its studios for almost a decade. So when the time came to upgrade its cameras, the choice was an easy one. Six new LDX Flex cameras with XCU base stations are coming online to provide improved image quality and flexibility for the future.

These new cameras will fit in perfectly with our existing GV STRATUS system to provide a robust news studio solution that takes our production quality and efficiency to the next level, noted Gilvani Molleta, director of engineering and technology for TV Cultura. Knowing that we can upgrade the cameras with a simple software license brings us peace of mind. The LDX Flex camera, for single-format 1080i or 720p acquisition, offers a feature set optimized for many studio-type applications and is easily upgradeable as customer needs change. The LDX Series of cameras ensures that customers are always Future-Ready by making it easy to upgrade from model to model, all the way to the most advanced camera available.

The XCU (eXchangeable Control Unit) base stations can be premounted and prewired in the rack, making a secure mechanical and electrical connection that enables users to easily slide them in and out whenever needed. Each XCU comes with one cradle, though additional cradles may be used to extend usability across different locations, such as OB vans, studios or any other site.
