FOR-A Video Switchers Demonstrate Continued Popularity among Houses of Worship in 2015
February 9, 2016
Valley Baptist Church recently underwent a major control room upgrade that included a FOR-A equipment package of the HVS-2000 switcher, MV-4200 multi-viewer, FA-505 signal processor, MFR-5000 routing switcher and LTO-60 media archiving server.
Faith Family Church started using FOR-A's 2 M/E HVS-390HS switcher last year as the worship center upgraded to HD in its 3,800-seat facility.
12Stone Church relies on portable solutions centered around FOR-As HVS-100 switcher in its remote campuses.
Cypress, CA, February 9, 2016 FOR-A announces its continued video switcher success among worship facilities of all sizes over the past year. In 2015, the company welcomed many new house of worship customers of its popular video switcher line, including the HVS-2000 (new), HVS-390HS and HVS-100/110 portable video switcher units.
"The house of worship market is a very important area to FOR-A," said Jay Shinn, FOR-A America's Vice President. "Our reliable and easy-to-operate video switchers are packed with useful features and unique capabilities that make them the perfect fit for full-time professionals, weekend pros and volunteers alike. Our switchers are used by many worship facilities across the country, and our aim is to always be the leader in affordability and value for house of worship video technology."
One new HVS-2000 switcher worship facility user is California's High Desert Church. The HVS-2000 enables the multi-site church to live stream sermons from its main campus to its other sites.
"Our church requires many outputs because we have multiple screens in our main sanctuary and multiple feeds for our other buildings. We also need outputs for streaming to our other sites across the desert," said Sam Pendergrass, Production Director, High Desert Church. "The HVS-2000 fulfills our current needs and even leaves room for expansion. I love the flexibility of the switcher."
High Desert capitalizes on the HVS-2000's unique features, including MELite , which allows a traditional AUX bus to transform into a functional Mix Effects bus with cuts, mix, wipes, keys, and DVEs, and FLEXaKEY , which allows operators to add, move and multiply key and DVE layers to traditional M/E or MELite resources.
Other houses of worship that recently purchased the HVS-2000 video switcher include Los Alamitos, California-based Cottonwood Church, and Dallas' Heights Baptist Church. The Frazer United Methodist Church of Alabama also selected the HVS-2000 last year, along with FOR-A's MFR-5000 routing switcher and FA-505 signal processor.
Another new house of worship HVS-2000 user is Valley Baptist Church in Bakersfield, California, which underwent a major control room upgrade to HD last summer with systems integrator, Technical Innovation's Blue Hat Design. The project was completed in under a week, and included a FOR-A equipment package of the HVS-2000 switcher, MV-4200 multi-viewer, FA-505 signal processor, MFR-5000 routing switcher and LTO-60 media archiving server.
Dave Kalahar, the Director of Media and Broadcasting for Valley Baptist Church, has been familiar with FOR-A technology for over 25 years. "Before we began this project, we knew FOR-A to be a company with a respected reputation that offers smart technologies at great price points. We're extremely happy with our new FOR-A equipment. The HVS-2000 switcher was designed with such smart engineering."
New house of worship users of FOR-A's HVS-390HS switcher include California's Crossroads Church and Hunter Street Baptist in Alabama. North Canton, Ohio-based Faith Family Church started using FOR-A's 2 M/E HVS-390HS switcher last year as the worship center upgraded to HD in its 3,800-seat facility. Delivering I-MAG to its audience, live Web streaming, and production of media events is now all accomplished through the HVS-390HS.
Kyle Whittaker, Production Director at Faith Family Church, said, "FOR-A's HVS-390HS cost effectiveness blew every other switcher out of the water," adding, "The switcher has all the features we wanted, and its ease of use was a big selling point."
Georgia-based 12Stone Church became a FOR-A HVS-100 portable video switcher user last year as the growing house of worship sought to transform five area schools into houses of worship on Sunday mornings. Technical Innovation's Blue Hat Design developed a comprehensive portable solution centered around the HVS-100 that provides a complete A/V/L set-up in under an hour. The production system met the church's goal of producing a concert-level experience consistent with their existing locations, including live band, powerful sound, dynamic lighting and HD video capabilities.
The Presbyterian Church of Pasadena is another recent user of the cost-effective HVS-100 portable video switcher, which includes eight HD/SD SDI inputs, four HD/SD SDI outputs and one HDMI output as standard functions, and offers frame synchronization, re-sizing engines, 2.5D wipe effects, Chroma keyer, DVEs and DSKs.
