HistoryHit.TV leverages Simplestream award-winning VOD-in-a-Box solution for new global history streaming service

Simplestream, leaders in live and on-demand OTT services, today announced that its award-winning VOD-in-a-Box platform was selected by Hit Networks to build its pioneering on-demand streaming service HistoryHit.TV, which is hosted by British television personality Dan Snow.

Launched in Q4 2017, HistoryHit.TV is a new global Subscription Video on Demand (SVoD) channel that provides history buffs with new original programmes featuring the world's leading historians and an extensive library of licensed documentaries.

Our fans are hungry for unrivalled access to history content anytime, anywhere and on a number of devices, says Tom Clifford, CEO of HistoryHit. We are especially keen to expand our footprint and grow our audience in the U.S. Simplestream has given us the expertise and proven technology we need to build and grow this ambitious service. The fact that Simplestream has already successfully delivered these types of video service projects for top tier content owners, distributors and operators helped ensure a successful launch of HistoryHit.TV.

HistoryHit.TV is available on iOS mobile and tablets, Android mobile and tablets, and desktop. The service will also be made available on Amazon Fire and Apple TV in Q2 2018. Ten percent of its profits will be donated to history education programs around the world.
