Laura Gonz lez Llamazares wins the scholarship I Female engineer by Hispasat Last grade student in aerospace engineering at the University of Le n, will benefit from financial support of 5,000. The company wants to encourage the presence of female talent in the areas of engineering as well in order to be able to have in the future more women working in this sector. HISPASAT It has unveiled on Monday the name of the winner of the scholarship I Woman engineer. Call for proposals have been popular ten candidates, of which eight were two telecommunications engineering and aerospace engineering students. The winner was Laura Gonz lez Llamazares, last grade student aerospace engineering at the University of Le n, which has a record with an average of remarkable note and a resume full of experiences and activities both in academia and in several projects of innovation and technology in different groups and associations.

The jury met on 9 June, was formed by Eugenio Font n, Dean of the College of engineers of telecommunications; Laura Barco, on behalf of Estefan a Matesanz, Dean of the College of aeronautical engineering; and, by Hispasat, Antonio Abad, technical and operations director; Ignacio Sanch s, director of business; Miguel T uler, director of resources and organization, and Cristina P rez Cant , Director of communication.

The jury has valued very positively the enthusiasm and entrepreneurial spirit of the candidate, his initiative and leadership, its practice in project management, his interest in innovation, international experience, and his vocation for the space sector. For all these reasons, coupled with its good academic record, the jury has unanimously decided to grant scholarship to Laura Gonz lez Llamazares.

Esta beca tiene una dotaci n econ mica de 5.000 euros para que una estudiante de Ingenier a pueda realizar estudios de posgrado en un m ster habilitante de Ingenier a Aeron utica o de Telecomunicaciones, en el mbito espacial. Con car cter anual, pretende fomentar la presencia del talento femenino en el mbito tecnol gico y contribuir as tanto al desarrollo profesional de las mujeres en estos estudios como al aumento del n mero de mujeres en el sector espacial.
