Salt from Piran also on Store Shelves in England Ljubljana, 22 May Soline, run by Klavdij Godni and under the 100% ownership of Telekom Slovenije, is successfully marketing its products both at home and abroad. Among the most well-known products is the esteemed Piran salt, harvested by master salt pan workers in the traditional way handed down by our ancestors, which is the only way of ensuring its high quality and distinctive taste. They produce an average of 1,000 tons of traditional table salt per year, as well as 25 tons of fleur de sel. Salt from Piran can now be enjoyed in 15 countries around the world, from the USA and Europe to Japan and Australia, and it is used in many reputable restaurants in Slovenia and abroad.

Travelers can now find Piran salt with a geographical indication on the shelves at Selfridges, one of the most famous and prestigious supermarket chains in London and Birmingham, and is available through their website Selfridges Online the whole world over.

This deal was made in partnership with Slovely Ltd., a distributer of high-quality gourmet items to famous restaurants and supermarkets, which was founded in London at the beginning of 2012. Its owners are Matev Slokar, Joe Gray, and Tony Jeans. Piranske soline and Slovely Ltd. spent a year in discussions about sales and how to design packaging to attract consumers in the English market. Over the next two months, Selfridges will also be managing public relations and promotions in Great Britain, and will supply products from Piranske soline to influential figures in the foodie world, such as food bloggers, chefs, culinary critics, and others.

Salt from Piran is the first Slovenian food item to be sold at Selfridges. This is a tremendous business achievement for Piranske soline and Slovely Ltd., which were able to successfully convince those at the supermarket chain about the high quality of the salt, as well as successfully weave the first threads in the story of this brand's emergence onto the English market. Piranske soline's presence on the shelves at Selfridges is also a pivotal reference point for expansion into other demanding markets around the world.

However, this important first step does not mark the end of Piranske soline's use in Great Britain, as the partners also have a foot in the door at all of Jamie Oliver's restaurants, who remains British foodies' most influential voice.
