Acustica Audio launch Salt 2

Combines three distinct analogue EQ emulations

The latest addition to Acustica Audio's ever-expanding collection of analogue-emulation plug-ins combines elements of their Gold, Pink and Sand product families into a single plug-in with a unified set of controls.

Said to remove the limitations of analogue EQ design, Salt 2 recreates a trio of praised hardware designs, but with a set of controls that remains consistent across all three models. All three modes boast continuously adjustable frequencies rather than fixed choices, and are said to closely emulate the curves of the original hardware, as well as preserving the integrity of transients.

The plug-in has been creating using a mixture of Acustica Audio's NOVA and Hyper technologies, with the former offering improved harmonic behaviour and dynamic interaction and the latter helping to optimise the processor for lower CPU consumption and greater performance stability.

Compatibility Salt 2 is supported on PCs running Windows 10 or above, and Macs running macOS 10.15 and higher. VST3, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available.

Pricing & Availability Salt 2 is available now, and is being offered at an introductory price of 99 until 13 May 2026, when it will increase to 199. Owners of Acustica's Gold, Pink, Sand or Salt plug-ins may be eligible to an upgrade/crossgrade discount, which can be found via their user account.
