The line-up for this year's RT Choice Music Prize live event, in association with IMRO & IRMA, has just been announced by Laura Fox on RT 2FM.
Five of the ten acts have confirmed to perform at the live event in Vicar St in March:

Pillow Queens
Thumper
(Due to touring and/or recording commitments, Dermot Kennedy, CMAT, Fontaines D.C., Sorcha Richardson and The Mary Wallopers are unable to perform on the night).
The winning album will be announced at the RT Choice Music Prize live event in Vicar Street, Dublin on Thursday 9th March and broadcast live on RT 2FM in a special four-hour extended show from 7-11pm. A special TV show will be broadcast on Thursday 16th March at 22.30 on RT 2 presented by Bl thnaid Treacy.
The winning Classic Irish Album will be announced on Monday 6th March, while the prize will be presented along with the other prizes at the live event in Vicar Street.
The Irish Song of the Year 2022 will be announced by Tracy Clifford on the day of the live event on 9th March. Tracy will also host the event that night. The winners of the Irish Album of the Year, Irish Artist of the Year and Irish Breakthrough Artist of the Year will all be announced at the live event from Vicar St and on RT 2FM.
RT Choice Music Prize Conversations will take place on Thursday 9th March at BIMM, Francis St, Dublin.
With four topical music industry discussion panels taking place between 12pm - 4.15pm (registration from 11am), Conversations brings together artists and music industry professionals to discuss and explore some of the key issues affecting both performers and the wider industry at the present time.

12.50 - 1.30pm Panel 2 Building An Online Fanbase
In the digital music era, where having an online presence before creating music is nearly the norm than the exception, this panel will explore how best to build and engage with your fan base leading to increased streams and ticket sales.

With streaming and physical sales revenue for most artists a long way from providing a living wage, live & touring continues to be their most important revenue stream. This panel will discuss, amongst other things: What are live agents looking for from new and emerging Irish artists? How to build and maintain audience through live activity. Does Brexit make any difference to Irish artists looking to tour internationally?

Who better to ask than the DJs and broadcasters whose job relies on finding the best in new music. Nels Hylton (BBC Radio 1), John Kennedy (Radio X) Gemma Bradley (BBC Radio 1 / BBC Radio Ulster) offer the inside track on how to grab those initial plays for your music.

AIM Ireland chat to some of the independent music professionals behind some of this year's RT Choice Music Prize nominated artists. RT Choice Music Prize in association with AIM Ireland (Moderated by Gill Dooley, CEO AIM Ireland).

The 18th annual RT Choice Music Prize will once again celebrate the best in Irish recorded music. The Prize has become one of the music-industry highlights of the year since its inception in 2005. The Irish Album of the Year award is chosen from a shortlist of ten albums by a panel of eleven Irish music media professionals and industry experts. The list of judges is listed on http://www.choicemusicprize.ie.
The winning Album of the Year act will receive 10,000, a prize fund which has been provided by The Irish Music Rights Organisation (IMRO) and The Irish Recorded Music Association (IRMA). All shortlisted acts will receive a specially commissioned award.
RAAP, Culture Ireland, FMC, the BAI and Minding Creative Minds are also official project partners of the RTE Choice Music Prize.
Through its funding of the Music From Ireland programme, Culture Ireland's support of the RT Choice Music Prize will be directed towards shortlisted artists, as well as assisting the RT Choice Music Prize Conversations.
