May 16th, 2025 Tribeca Festival 2025 Reveals Creators Market RecipientsBold New Projects Include Doggie with Anna Baryshnikov and Juliana Canfield; Cop City by Oscar nominated producer Sam Cullman; Luna Luna by Jason Zeldes; and Another Country by Emily Kunstler, Sarah Kunstler, Jeffery Robinson and Creative Associate Producer Tom Hanks
New York, NY, (May 16, 2025) - The 2025 Tribeca Festival, presented by OKX, today unveiled the exclusive slate of features, series and audio projects selected for the Tribeca Creators Market, in partnership with Indeed. Taking place June 9-11, this three-day, invitation-only industry marketplace connects promising filmmakers and content creators with top industry executives, financiers, and distributors to showcase bold, distinctive voices poised to transform the entertainment landscape. Major studios, production companies, funders and streamers that have previously attended include Sony Pictures Classics, Neon, HBO, Plan B, Impact Partners, Ford Foundation and Paramount+.
The Market kicks off with the Works in Progress showcase, which, for the first time this year, accepted open submissions. Twelve narrative and documentary storytellers have been selected to preview their feature or episodic projects to a highly curated room of industry professionals, including financiers, festival programmers and producers. This showcase serves as an early entry point into Tribeca's broader marketplace pipeline, supporting projects from inception through development, and potentially into future Festival Official Selections. Notably, Works in Progress alumni returning to premiere their completed films at this year's Festival include Esta Isla (directed by Cristian Carretero and Lorraine Jones Molina); and Backside (directed by Raul Paz-Pastrana).
Following the Works in Progress showcase is two days of meetings between invited storytellers and industry representatives. A sample of storytellers presenting their latest projects at this year's invite-only Creators Market include:
Social justice feature documentary Cop City, directed by Christopher Frierson and Oscar-nominated producer/director Sam Cullman.
Feature comedy Doggie, starring Anna Baryshnikov (Dickinson) and Juliana Canfield (Succession).
Thriller A Few Days in the Sun directed by student Oscar winning filmmaker Mauro Mueller, making his feature directorial debut.
Whimsical, kaleidoscopic documentary Luna Luna, directed by Jason Zeldes, explores the Luna Luna amusement park.
Another Country, a series that uncovers hidden histories of oppression, resistance, and resilience across the United States from Founder and CEO of The Who We Are Project, Jeffery Robinson, award-winning filmmakers Emily Kunstler and Sarah Kunstler, and Creative Associate Producer Tom Hanks.
Tribeca is proud to offer the enriching Creators Market platform to these selected storytelling teams who are using their original sensibilities to deliver form-pushing works, said Senior Film Programmer Jose Rodriguez. The diversity of their narratives - from socially-urgent topics to thoughtful youth-driven stories - present a powerful range of vision and artistic purpose.
The Tribeca Creators Market was founded in 2016. Since then, over 250 storytellers have participated in the market. Alumni include actress, producer and director Britt Lower (Severance); actors and filmmakers Rick Gomez and Steve Zahn; and actress and writer Tallie Medel, among others.
