Assist in the co-ordination, review, justification and presentation of content budgets and forecasts, Optimise resources with the Company's budget targets, parameters and assumptions, Ensure content reporting and variance analysis is timeous, regular and meaningful.
Responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of Synergy database information against the signed contracts, including properly authorised changes
Business Intelligence Development:
Assist and provide input to Synergy and related system database and/or process enhancements and developments
Responsible for content related specifications to ensure and meet clearly defined business requirements
Provide feedback on quality and integrity of broadcast data as this has an impact on the financial reporting and contract business rules.
Transfer Pricing:
All aspects of accounting relating to transfer pricing
International Content Payments:
International Content accounts payable / liability management
Review of invoices for accuracy and validity against signed contract prior to submission for payment
Month-end Financial Reporting:
Reporting variances against budget where applicable
Reports submitted to relevant stakeholders according to corporate Standard Operating Procedures (time table and layout)
Month-end Procedures:
Running month-end process on Synergy
Review of GL reconciliations to balances on Synergy
Review of Synergy payments clearing account
Providing information and assistance to internal and external auditors
Processing of costs from Synergy to correct cost centres and GL accounts
Management of inventory and Cost Of Providing Services (COPS) management
Review calculation and processing of local content royalty distribution
Review calculation and processing of withholding tax
Performance Management
Manage the content contracts team
Staff are aware of operational and job requirements through up to date job profiles, performance contracting and standard operating procedures
Staff are aware of current performance (positive performance and performance discrepancies) through ongoing timeous feedback and formal performance reviews
Training needs are identified, documented and met to bridge performance discrepancies and changes in the environment
Principles and operating guidelines are in place to empower staff with decision making
Education & Experience
Must be a CA (SA)
Solid 3 years post article experience in a finance environment
Sound knowledge of IFRS
Exposure during articles to strong business principles and practices
Strong finance and administration skills are essential
Strong computer literacy (Microsoft Office applications)
Advanced MS Excel skills is a minimum requirement
Prior exposure to SAP would be an advantage
