Civolution Co-Hosts Multiscreen Salon Event to Highlight Growing Value of the Second Screen Space at IBC

September 4, 2014 - Eindhoven, The Netherlands, September 4th, 2014 Civolution, the leading provider of technology and solutions for identifying, managing and monetizing content, today announced that it will co-host the Multiscreen Salon at IBC 2014 alongside deltatre, Ex Machina, Piksel, Triple IT and VAST MEDIA. The Multiscreen Salon, produced in association with the Second Screen Society, provides networking, information and inspiration for content and production companies looking to use the second screen to bring eyeballs back to the television set and monetize the journey. The Microsoft sponsored event will be held at De Rode Hoed, Keizergracht 102, 1015 CV Amsterdam on Saturday September 13th, 2014 between 13:30 and 17:15.

The future of entertainment consumption will depend on the ability to engage and interact with content across all devices. Game Of Thrones: An in-depth look at how HBO's global blockbuster has become a trending topic in nearly every country it's broadcast and how the second screen has facilitated it's popularity and growth in these locations.

What Do I Know: A dynamic and fast-paced quiz show considered a breakthrough in play-along television that pits stars against students in a match of wits. The play-along app broke records in France, The Netherlands and Belgium.

Utopia: A ground breaking social television experiment in which 15 individuals get one year to build an entirely new society, from scratch. The unique freemium model of the app brings in substantial revenues directly from viewers.

Alan Wolk (Second Screen Society) will have a one-to-one fireside chat with Jacob Shwirtz, Chief Social Media Officer at Endemol Beyond USA before taking part in a multiscreen strategy panel alongside Erik Bretas, Executive Director, Global Media at Globo and PGA European Tour's Mark Lichtenhein, which will offer expert insights into how digital is transforming TV in Europe and the USA as well as the disparity in the digital transformation of the entertainment and sports sectors.

Multiscreen innovation has changed the way viewers see sports and offers a deeper level of engagement and interaction with the contests. The late afternoon Multiscreen Salon session will focus on the prevalence of sports in the multiscreen space through a series of examples:

FIFA World Cup: The 2014 edition proved a watershed event for multiscreen and Stefan-Eric Wildemann, Manager of Sales and Distribution at FIFA TV will discuss why so many broadcasters worldwide selected the FIFA video online solution.

The Evolution of Sport Multiscreen Coverage Panel: An expert panel moderated by Ciaran Quinn (deltatre), including James Rutherford (Channel 4), Mark Lichtenhein (PGA European Tour Golf), Erik Bretas (Globo TV) and Dick Buschmann (Achtung!) will discuss how digital, social and mobile are changing the consumption and production of sport.
