Applications Open for Berklee Fenway Neighborhood Improvement Grant Boston nonprofits can apply by December 12 for funding to support community projects that bring people together and enhance life in the Fenway.

Applications for the Berklee Fenway Neighborhood Improvement Grant program are now open through December 12.

Berklee is accepting applications for its Fenway Neighborhood Improvement Grant program, which provides funding for free community projects that add to the vibrancy and quality of life in the Fenway. Applications are open now through December 12, and grants will be awarded in early 2026.

Launched in 2023, the program is funded by Berklee and administered through the Community and Government Relations Office as part of the colleges ongoing commitment to the Fenway community. Eligible applicants include nonprofits located in or serving the Fenway or Back Bay areas, as well as individuals or groups fiscally sponsored by a Fenway nonprofit. Projects must:

occur within and enhance the Fenway neighborhood;

be free and publicly accessible; and

provide a public benefit or serve a public need.

For years, we've had the pleasure of partnering with various Fenway organizations to provide enriching events and activities in Fenway neighborhoods, said Abria Smith, director of city and community engagement at Berklee. The Fenway Neighborhood Improvement Grant program allows us to directly support activities that are tailored to the unique needs of Fenway neighborhoods by the organizations that know them best.

In March of this year, four Boston-based nonprofits were awarded $17,000 through the program's second annual grant cycle: Fenway CDC/Community Center, Emerald Necklace Conservancy, Fenway Community Center at Viridian, and Fenway Civic Association. The grants funded a range of activities, including free community yoga classes, revitalizing a public space, a Fenway Free Market, and various tree plantings.
