Gamelab deepens as the international hub of the video game sector La XIII edici n del Congreso Internacional, que se celebrar del 28 al 30 de junio en Barcelona, contar con los creadores de t tulos como The Last Guardian', Clash Royale' y Clash of Clans', Max Payne' o el m tico Ultima Online'. Mike Sepso dar el pistoletazo de salida en Gamelab con los eSports como fen meno de espect culo audiovisual.
La XIII edici n de Gamelab, el congreso internacional del videojuego y el ocio interactivo, que arrancar en Barcelona el 28 de junio convirtiendo a la capital catalana en el centro de atenci n de este sector.
Por la difusi n de la cultura del videojuego, el apoyo a la creaci n y como foro de tendencias, Gamelab se erige en el congreso m s prestigioso a nivel europeo y uno de los tres mejores del mundo, seg n los profesionales y gur s m s influyentes del sector.
Para Iv n Fdez. Lobo, director del Gamelab, Catalu a se convierte en la locomotora del sector del desarrollo del videojuego en Espa a, representando el 40% de la facturaci n. La situaci n en la que se encuentra el sector es la deseada, con nuevas empresas y programas de m ster para fomentar la profesionalizaci n. Pero estamos en un momento en el que, para que esas empresas triunfen, es necesario ser rompedores, incorporar la innovaci n y proyectarse en el futuro para focalizarse .
eSports y movilidad
En la industria del videojuego ha emergido en los ltimos a os una rama que se est convirtiendo en un fen meno social y econ mico. Se trata del videojuego como espect culo audiovisual y deportivo, con los eSports como m ximo exponente. Por ello los eSports ser n de nuevo uno de los platos fuertes y contar n con referentes mundiales como Kurt Melcher, director ejecutivo de eSports en Intersport y en la Universidad Robert Morris de Chicago, o Mike Sepso, vicepresidente de Activision Blizzad, encargado de Media Networks, una divisi n destinada a crear la mejor experiencia en eSports.
Activision ha anunciado un modelo muy similar al de las ligas deportivas profesionales con el pago de franquicias. Las cadenas de televisi n est n estudiando de qu manera van a incorporar los eSports en sus parrillas de programaci n , comenta Gonzo Su rez, cofundador de Gamelab. Contar con la presencia de Kurt Melcher y Mike Sepso puede servir de aliciente para intentar contagiar a la industria local .
La Generalitat de Catalunya no quiere quedarse al margen de un fen meno de masas como los eSports, cuya importancia crecer en los pr ximos a os, con su inclusi n como disciplina ol mpica de exhibici n en los Juegos Asi ticos de 2018 y 2022. En este sentido, desde la Secretaria de Telecomunicaciones, Ciberseguridad y Sociedad Digital del Departamento de la Presidencia, hemos impulsado un grupo de trabajo interno en el que participar tambi n la Secretaria de Deportes, para valorar la opci n de impulsar la liga catalana de eSports y de crear un equipo catal n que represente a Catalu a en estas disciplinas , ha comentado Jordi Puigner , Secretario de Telecomunicaciones, Ciberseguridad y Sociedad de Digital, quien adem s ha destacado que el sector del videojuego genera muy buena perspectiva de creaci n de negocio y ocupaci n. Celebramos el gran esfuerzo hecho por las universidades para fomentar las vocaciones entorno a los videojuegos. Y Gamelab es una pieza fundamental .
El mercado m vil crece de manera imparable aunque la superpoblaci n no permite la supervivencia de las compa as no profesionales' al carecer de un enfoque de producto para definir un plan empresarial y de comercializaci n viable. En este sentido ser aleccionadora la ponencia de Mikko Kodisoja, fundador de Supercell, creadora de los populares Clash Royale and Clash of Clans. Gamelab tambi n contar con Ellen LyseEinarsen, desarrolladora de juegos online como Angry Birds Epic and Sacred Legends; o Maximo Cavazzani, CEO y fundador de Ethermax.

Ambicioso programa
El programa de Gamelab de este a o se ha convertido en uno de los m s ambiciosos de los ltimos tiempos.
Una de las presencias destacadas de esta edici n es la de Fumito Ueda, todo un referente del sector y cuyas obras se consideran ya verdaderos cl sicos.
Ueda ha convencido tanto a cr tica como a jugadores con su personal estilo en el que se mezcla arte, poes a y tecnolog a con una cuidada y esmerada est tica de fantas a. Sus obras m s reconocidas y con las que se forj su estilo, fueron ICO (2001) y Shadow of the Colossus (2005), ambos videojuegos para PlayStation 2, remasterizados m s tarde para PlayStation 3. En el a o 2016 sali al mercado The Last Guardian para Play Station 4, uno de sus trabajos m s ambiciosos.
Otros ponentes que forman parte del prestigioso elenco son Sam Lake, escritor de la franquicia Max Payne y Alan Wake; Hilmar Veigar director de EVE Online; Mike Pondsmith, creador de Cyberpunk 2077; y Dino Patti, creador de Limbo e Inside, ofrecer n sus visiones sobre los retos y oportunidades de expansi n del sector del videojuego.
Otros de los nombres importantes de esta edici n son Emmanuel M rquez, CEO de Starbreeze Studios, creador independiente y pionero en experiencias de realidad virtual fabricando su propio casco de inmersi n conocido como StarVR.
