Actress and TV personality Pearl Modiadie has bagged a new role of Yvonne on BET's Redemption, which is set to premiere on Monday from 26 September at 6 pm.

PEARL MODIADIE JOINS REDEMPTION' The radio personality and actress Pearl Modiadie, who plays Yvonne in the new BET telenovela Redemption will act alongside talented actors Seputla Sebogodi, Tina Jaxa, Themba Ndaba as Pastor Simon Zikode, and many more.

The faith-based telenovela revolves around the Zikode family and will follow the mysterious disappearance of Pastor Zikode.

The pastor's daughter Faith is played by The Queen's Kwanele Mthethwa who is a singer and will drop everything and returns to the church and uncover dark and devastating family secrets.

Modiadie will also star alongside actors The River's Zenzo Ngqobe, Scandal!'s Majorie Langa, and Gomora's Leera Mthethwa to name a few.

Her husband will be played by The Estates Sparky Xulu, who will play the role of Zwelakhe Zikode.

-- WHO IS YVONNE? According to Drum Magazine, Modiadie revealed in a press conference that her character Yvonne is the girlfriend who turns wife to Zwelakhe.

Her husband Zwelakhe is a recovering drug addict coming home from the rehabilitation centre and his father Simon is played by Themba Ndaba.

Yvonne and Zwelakhe are a great couple, she says.

They love each other but I think what is surprising about Yvonne is the length that she will go through to ensure that her husband becomes the best that he can be for her own benefit, Pearl adds.

So there are many surprises about the lengths that she will go to.

Modiadie has also appeared in e.tv's soapie Scandal! as Kefilwe Malope and also played Bonnie on e.tv's canned soapie Rhythm City. She's also appeared in BET's sitcom Black Tax and recently played Andiswa Makeba on Entangled.

I have had a couple of stints in acting on Scandal! and Generations but those were short-lived because I was on the radio, and I was hosting Zaziwa as well and radio is very demanding. I finally have the time to be part of a long-form drama series which is great.

So, I had a point to prove and I hope that you guys see the work and effort that went into portraying what Yvonne is about. I hope people don't see the host.
