11% of Europeans opt for IPTV for television versus 35% of TV and 27% of DTT En Espan a, y sobre una base de 17,21 millones de hogares, el sat lite y el cable mantienen su posici n respecto a 2013, mientras que la tecnolog a IPTV experimenta un notable crecimiento del 119,7%.
El operador internacional de sat lites SES ha presentado los resultados del Satellite Monitor, el estudio anual elaborado por el Instituto DYM que analiza el mercado televisivo en Europa, a finales de 2014, en funcio n de las tecnologi as empleadas para su recepcio n: TDT, sate lite, cable e IPTV. La compa a tambi n ha expuesto los datos correspondientes al mercado espa ol.
Sobre una base de 254 millones de hogares con TV en Europa, el estudio concluye que el sate lite es la tecnologi a preferida por los europeos para recibir la televisio n con 90.03 millones de hogares (35%), seguida de la tecnologi a terrestre (27%), el cable (27%) y la IPTV (11%). SES continu a incrementando su liderazgo en Europa. Un 71% de los hogares con recepcio n directa al sate lite (DTH) en 2014 lo hacen a trave s de sus sate lites (64 millones de hogares).
En Espan a, y sobre una base de 17,21 millones de hogares, el informe refleja que el sat lite y el cable mantienen su posici n respecto a 2013, mientras que la tecnolog a IPTV experimenta un notable crecimiento (+119,7%) y la TDT rebaja su presencia en un 8,6%.
En concreto, al cierre de 2014, el sate lite estaba presente en 2,66 millones de hogares espan oles (un 16% del total). Las cifras confirman la estabilidad de los ltimos a os. Del total, 1,62 millones de hogares con receptores de televisio n de pago a trave s de Canal+, mientras que 1,05 reciben televisio n en abierto vi a sate lite.
En cuanto al resto de tecnologi as, la TDT reduce su recepcio n de los 12,06 a los 11,56 millones de hogares, se mantiene el cable aunque con un ligero incremento (de los 1,42 a los 1,43 millones de hogares) y crece la IPTV (de los 0,71 a los 1,56 millones de hogares).
Alta definicio n
En Europa, y en comparaci n con los 38 millones de finales de 2013, 47 millones de hogares vieron televisi n por sat lite en alta definici n al cierre de 2014. De estos, el 77% lo hicieron gracias a los sat lites de SES. A finales del pasado a o la compa a transmit a m s de 6.500 canales de televisi n en todo el mundo, de los que 1.800 eran en HD, de los cuales 537 corresponden a Europa.
En Espan a, y tambie n respecto a la HD, un a o m s todas las tecnologi as mejoran sus cifras respecto al periodo anterior y la difusi n en esta tecnolog a crece un 19% en su conjunto. El sate lite crece un 5% hasta los 1,17 millones de los que 660.000 mil (30.000 m s que en el periodo anterior) son usuarios de iPlus de Canal+ y por tanto reciben 35 canales HD exclusivamente a trave s de SES. El cable alcanza los 790.000 hogares y crece un 8%; la IPTV crece un 21% y difunde contenidos HD en un mill n de hogares espan oles. La TDT crece un 7% y llega en alta definicio n a 6,39 millones de hogares.
Igualmente en Espan a, y a trave s de la posicio n orbital principal (19.2 este) de SES, son acesibles 48 canales europeos de Alta Definicio n gratuitos y a un canal demo en Ultra Alta Definici n, el pr ximo est ndar televisivo.
