A STAR-STUDDED LINEUP FOR MIPTV 2013

Paris, Tuesday 2 April 2013 Thandie Newton, Famke Janssen, Gene Simmons, Eli Roth, Christophe Lambert, Clotilde Courau, Mark Strong, Max Irons, Caterina Murino, Tom Riley, Lennie James, are just some of the stars who will be attending MIPTV 2013, organised by Reed MIDEM and running 8-11 April in Cannes, France.

The red carpet will be rolled out in front of the Martinez Hotel on Monday 8 April from 7.00pm to 8.30pm to welcome the stars and VIP guests at the MIPTV 2013 Opening Party (7.30pm) and for the International Digital Emmy Awards ceremony (8.45pm).

International star and BAFTA award-winning British actress Thandie Newton (Crash, Beloved, Mission: Impossible II, ER) will fly down to the French Riviera to present Entertainment One (eOne)s much-anticipated series Rogue, co-produced with Greenroom Entertainment. Newton accompanies the series creator, writer and supervising producer Matthew Parkhill (The Caller, Dot the I) and its executive producer and co-director Nick Hamm (Killing Bono, The Hole). Larger-than-life rock legend Gene Simmons will support the eOne team at MIPTV.

Dutch-born Hollywood screen favorite Famke Janssen (X-Men, Goldeneye, Taken, Nip/Tuck) will grace the Croisette and present Gaumont International Televisions new thriller Hemlock Grove to international buyers and press. Janssen will be escorted by the series executive producer and renowned actor/director Eli Roth (Inglorious Basterds, Hostel, Grindhouse) and Swedish actor Bill Skarsgrd (Anna Karenina, Simon and the Oaks). Hemlock Grove will premiere on Netflix in April.

French stars Christophe Lambert (Highlander, The Sicilian, Greystoke, NCIS: Los Angeles) and Clotilde Courau (La Vie en Rose, Map of the Human Heart, Modern Love) will present France Televisions next big event La Source. Sold internationally by Newen Distribution, the spy mini-series is directed by renowned French director Xavier Durringer and actors Edouard Montoute (Femme Fatale) and Flore Bonaventura (Commissaire Magellan) will join the team at MIPTV.

Starzs much-awaited new series Da Vincis Demons will have its World Premiere TV Screening at MIPTV on Monday 8 April, in the presence of its writer, executive producer and co-director, David S. Goyer co-writer of critically-acclaimed blockbusters The Dark Knight trilogy and Man of Steel as well as British actors Tom Riley (Monroe, Arcadia, Bouquet of Barbed Wire), Laura Haddock (The Inbetweeners Movie, Upstairs, Downstairs, Missing), Lara Pulver (True Blood, Spooks), and Blake Ritson (Rockn Rolla, Hyde Park on Hudson). Following the untold story of Leonardo Da Vinci during his early years in Renaissance Florence, Da Vincis Demons is produced by Adjacent Productions for Starz and is being sold internationally by BBC Worldwide at MIPTV.

Co-produced by Endemol Studios and AMC Studios, Low Winter Sun is a contemporary story of murder, deception, revenge and corruption, in which the line between cops and criminals is blurred. British actors Mark Strong (Zero Dark Thirty, John Carter, Sherlock Holmes) and Lennie James (Snatch, The Walking Dead, Hung) will walk the MIPTV red carpet alongside the series writer and executive producer Chris Mundy (Hell On Wheels, Criminal Minds). Also with Endemol, TV host, comedian and best-selling author Steve Harvey will bring the hit US syndicated daytime series The Steve Harvey Show to Cannes. The show is being distributed internationally by Endemol Worldwide Distribution.

Based on Homers epic poem and starring Italian actress Caterina Murino (Casino Royale, Lenqute corse), the newly-scripted series The Odyssey brings a twist to Greek mythologys great story and reveals its darkest side. Presented by 100% Distribution and Studio Hamburg, and produced by Makingprod and GMT Studio, the new European co-production (Arte, Rai, RTP) is being sold internationally by 100% Distribution International.

The first episode of Starzs The White Queen will be premiered at MIPTV in the presence of British actor Max Irons (The Host, Red Riding Hood) and the series author, British novelist Philippa Gregory (The Other Boleyn Girl, A Respectable Trade). Her compatriot Anthony Horowitz (Midsomer Murders, Injustice) created and wrote ITVs Foyles War, presented at MIPTV by All3Media International, in the company of English actress Honeysuckle Weeks (My Brother Tom, The Bill).

American writer and executive producer Edward Allen Bernero (Criminal Minds, Third Watch) will shed light on Tandem Communications crime series Crossing Lines, alongside actors Tom Wlaschiha (Game of Thrones) and Gabriella Pession (Ferdinando and Carolina). Former French tennis champion and co-founder of documentary production company 2L Prod, Henri Leconte will present his new round-the-world travelling series Looking For And the man who free fell to Earth from 39 km high on 14 October 2012, under the supervision of Red Bull Media House , Felix Baumgartner will land on the MIPTV 2013 Opening Party red carpet on Monday 8 April.
