Xilinx was recognized at the EE Times and EDN ACE Awards ceremony, held on April 23, 2013, as part of UBM Techs DESIGN West and ESC Silicon Valley Conference.

Xilinxs Virtex-7 H580T FPGA was chosen for the 2013 ACE Award due to its unmatched functionality, power and technical innovations required to build and deliver this product to market. Selected as a distinguished processor (FPGA), the Virtex-7 H580T FPGA is the worlds first 3D heterogeneous all programmable device. Using Xilinxs stacked silicon interconnect (SSI) technology, the heterogeneous implementation allowed Xilinx to make independent technology choices for the core FPGA and transceiver die, enabling unmatched capacity, bandwidth and integration of 28 Gbps transceivers unseen not only by competitive FPGA devices, but also by ASSPs.
As part of the selection process, UBM not only considers the distinctiveness of the end product itself, but also recognizes the engineering and technical merits required of the product. On the technical innovation side, Xilinx engineering teams created new tools and solutions to solve a myriad of challenges for 3D IC including signal integrity, physical design, product assembly, physical integration, static timing analysis, system-level integration, electrical verification, physical verification, and mechanical/physical stress modeling, among others.
