Dolby Atmos Comes to the Home in India with the Release of Mary Kom on Blu-ray

Mumbai, India, September 29, 2014-Dolby Laboratories, Inc. (NYSE: DLB) today announced that Shemaroo Entertainment Ltd. will release a Blu-ray Disc that features a Dolby Atmos soundtrack of the recently released movie Mary Kom, from Viacom18 Motion Pictures and producer Sanjay Leela Bhansali, for home theater enthusiasts. With Dolby Atmos, sound comes alive from all directions, including overhead, to fill the home theater with astonishing clarity, power, detail, and depth.

Mary Kom, a chronicle of the life of Indian boxer Mary Kom, will be available on Blu-ray starting October 15, 2014, through Shemaroo Entertainment Ltd., one of the largest independent content aggregators in Bollywood. Dolby Atmos soundtracks for home theater are fully backward compatible, meaning that theyll play on traditional home entertainment playback systems.

Viacom18 Motion Pictures is the first Indian studio to support Dolby Atmos on Blu-ray Disc offerings. Ajit Andhare, COO, Viacom18 Motion Pictures, said, "Every punch that Mary threw was heard and felt in Dolby Atmos in the cinema. Additional manufacturers that have committed to delivering future Dolby Atmos products include Datasat Digital Entertainment, Emotiva Audio Corp, Outlaw Audio, Storm Audio, and NHT (Now Hear This).
