Welcome to Behind The Broadcast Booth with Sybil Wilkes, a new interview series that celebrates some of the industries most talented production and media executives. In episode 2, CBS Sports Director Mark Grant joins the show as he will once again be at the center of the storytelling magic for the 2025 March Madness production beginning today.

A five-time Emmy Award winner, Grant has done it all at CBS Sports, from college hoops (he has worked on every NCAA Men's Tournament since 1999) to golf and the NFL. Grant joined CBS Sports in 1998 and serves as lead director for CBS Sports' college basketball coverage, including the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship. He is also a director for CBS Sports' coverage of the NFL, college football and golf. Grant has worked every NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament during his tenure at CBS, beginning with the 1999 Tournament.

A 43-year veteran, Grant has been a trailblazer in the industry, becoming the first African-American director at both CBS and ESPN. On November 1, 2020, Grant directed the Los Angeles Chargers-Denver Broncos game on CBS alongside producer Kimani Morales, marking the first time that an NFL telecast was led by an African-American executive producer (Harold Bryant), producer (Morales) and director (Grant). Grant was also a driving force behind CBS Sports' 8:46 campaign, which he helped create, execute and produce in the wake of the murder of George Floyd.
