Gino D'Acampo to stand-in for Holly Willoughby as she takes maternity leave
Gino D'Acampo is to join multi award-winning Celebrity Juice as team captain to replace Holly Willoughby as she takes maternity leave for her third baby. Celebrity Juice returned for its 12th series on Thursday, and continues next Thursday, 10pm on ITV2. Holly filmed the first show of the series last week, and Gino takes her place from this week.
Cooking sensation Gino, will aim to come out on top against rival team captain Fearne, aided by a host of different celebrities each week, in the mightiest and most ludicrous of comedy panel shows. The two teams will battle it out in a series of chaotic challenges to prove who knows the most about the week's celebrity news. As ever, boisterous host Keith Lemon will preside over activities.
Keith Lemon commented: Looking forward to having me old pal from Sheffield cover for Holly whilst shes sprouting. I dont know how hes gonna keep up that fake Italian accent for a whole series but its gonna be fantastico! As Gino says, or when hes out of character reet good!
Gino D'Acampo added: I actually can't believe it's true it's going to be the gig of my year! A show where I can express myself, not through food, but through my sex positions. Which I will be very happy to demonstrate with Fearne.
Fearne Cotton said: Ill certainly miss Holly and am slightly worried about Gino's very naughty side, but its going to be a lot of fun!
Executive Producer of Celebrity Juice, Leon Wilson commented: Gino will make a fantastic addition to the Juice trio. No stranger to the Juice panel, Gino will certainly hold his own, and I just hope Fearne is prepared for the storm that is sure to be cooked up by the force that will be Gino and Keith - good luck Fearne! We are very much looking forward to having Gino on board.
Claire Zolkwer, Commissioning Editor, Comedy Entertainment, ITV added: We wish Holly every best wish with her new baby and welcome Gino to the Juice fold - hell be fantastico!
Celebrity Juice continues to be ITV2's highest-rated show, winning audiences of up to 2.2 million viewers for the last series, and is also the highest rated entertainment show across all multi-channels since 2002.
The 11x30 minute series is commissioned by Claire Zolkwer and is a Talkback production for ITV2. The series is executive produced by Dan Baldwin and Talkback Managing Director, Leon Wilson. The series producer is Ed Thomas.
