Annova announces major BBC contract

Annova Systems has been awarded the contract to replace the BBC's current ENPS Newsroom system, used by around 10,000 journalists worldwide.

After a procurement process that started in September 2013, run under public procurement regulations, the BBC has selected Annova Systems to provide OpenMedia newsroom software for all of their newsrooms.

Starting in spring this year, the team will spend up to two years customising, configuring and testing OpenMedia software. From 2017 onwards, the finalised configuration will be rolled out worldwide to over 120 locations and more than 10,000 users, where it will replace the existing ENPS application. The long-term agreement covers initial services as well as licensing and operational support for at least the next 12 years.

The OpenMedia newsroom system supports both digital output and linear broadcasting. The system delivers agency wires and enables users to manage all input and output in the newsroom

Using OpenMedia, journalists will be able to share and make the best use of all

their content, as well as being confident of integration with the wide range of broadcast systems and devices in use across the organisation.
