New Fujifilm FDR Go DR Mobile for Homerton Hospital NICU

Fujifilm is a pioneer in diagnostic imaging and information systems for healthcare, with a range of constantly evolving, clinically proven, products and technologies designed to assist medical professionals perform efficiently and effectively. The company are pleased to announce the installation of an FDR Go DR Mobile X-ray unit in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of Homerton Hospital.

Based in East London, Homerton Hospital NICU provides care to babies born at Homerton requiring specialist care, as well as any baby requiring specialist care for more than 24 hours from within the north-east London area.

Homerton Hospital approached NHS Supply Chain with a specification for a Mobile X-Ray system suitable to operate in the NICU and began week-long evaluations of three units they short-listed, including Fujifilm's FDR Go DR Mobile X-ray unit.

From the evaluations, the Fujifilm FDR Go was selected for its wide range of features and capabilities. All of the Radiographers found it very easy to use and fast from an Image Acquisition perspective. Other key features that were highlighted by the Radiographers included its intuitive user interface and easy manoeuvrability, as well as the 24 x 30 digital detector, which fits perfectly in the NICU incubators to enable x-ray examinations of Neonatal babies.

Robert Higham, Radiographer at Homerton Hospital and one of the FDR Go's key users, said: "The speed of the image availability on the system really helps the clinicians decide on the correct course of treatment at the bedside. This is crucial when treating neonatal babies."
