2019 Global Sustainability Film Awards shortlist announced Admin/ October 22, 2019/ news
From a list of films showing projects across 24 different countries, leading communications and sustainability experts have selected a shortlist to go forward to the final judges of the 2019 Global Sustainability Film Awards.
The shortlisting panel judged the films against two main criteria: creative execution and the credibility of the sustainability initiatives they depict.
The shortlisted films show sustainability work from around the world, from an app for reforestation in the Philippines to a circular economy model used to produce tequila in Mexico, from carbon free cooling in China to biomedical innovation using forestry off cuts in Finland. Watch the full list of submissions across the six award categories.
Nick Nuttall, international communications director of Earth Day Network, chaired the shortlisting panels: I think we have handed over to the final judging a very rich array of films that present fresh and new ideas on the challenges of our time videos that showcase sustainability solutions in local and national contexts that also have potential for scaling-up to have global impact.'
A final judging panel, chaired by sustainability communications strategist and Vice President of Bloom Victoria Brooks, will select the winners. Winning films will be announced and showcased at the high-profile film awards ceremony on 18 November at The May Fair Hotel.
Join us on this evening to celebrate the efforts of businesses and organisations worldwide who are working towards the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Secure your tickets to the event. All ticket sales go in support of our work as a media charity to inspire change for a greener, fairer world through the power of film.
