Innovative Centralparq partners Quantel Enterprise sQ fast-turnaround production system

At NAB 2013, Quantel and Infostrada, a global provider of sports media, interactive and creative technology services, are partnering to demonstrate broadcast workflows linking Quantels Enterprise sQ HD fast-turnaround news production system with Centralparqs Mediadoq ingest application. Mediadoq provides automated file ingest into the Quantel environment, streamlining the overall workflow.

The Quantel/Centralparq workflow begins with users filling out metadata fields for their proposed footage in the Centralparq database. A QR code label which contains a link to the project metadata is generated then printed out and attached to the disk prior to shooting the footage.

Users then shoot the footage on either P2 or XDCAM. Once they have completed shooting the footage the disk is inserted in the Mediadoq device reader. Mediadoq automatically scans the QR code label on the disk using the built-in QR Code scanner. By reading the QR code, Mediadoq recognises the project and transfers the material in the right format along with all the metadata fields automatically filled in the Centralparq database to the Quantel sQ server. Users can then edit the clip on a Quantel seat and publish it to web, tablet and mobile.

The combined Quantel and Centralparq workflow provides key benefits for users including automated ingest to the Quantel sQ server from any location using a Mediadoq. Team members and freelancers can collaborate online and have direct access to media within the Quantel platform using Quantels QTube Browser.
