SONY COMPUTER ENTERTAINMENT SETS NEW PRICE FOR PLAYSTATION 4 IN JAPAN PlayStation 4 Available at an Attractive New Price of 34,980 yen Starting October 1

Tokyo, September 15, 2015 - Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) today announced that the PlayStation 4 (PS4 ) computer entertainment system with 500GB hard disk drive, currently available at a suggested retail price (SRP) of 39,980 yen (excluding tax) in Japan, will be available at a very attractive new SRP of 34,980 yen (excluding tax) starting October 1, 2015.

Since its release in November 2013, PS4 has been enormously well-received from users around the globe. The platform continues to demonstrate aggressive growth and positive momentum, reaching the worldwide cumulative sell through milestone of 20.2 million units in just 16 months*1. In addition to the new attractive price point, SCE will accelerate the expansion of the PS4 system to new audiences by further enhancing the PS4 ecosystem, which includes strengthening of the PS4 software line-up, bolstering the network services available on PlayStation Network and introducing PlayStation VR, the virtual reality system that expands the world of PS4.

Demonstrating strong support from 3rd party developers and publishers, upcoming PS4 software titles in Japan include Arslan: The Warriors of Legend (KOEI TECMO GAMES CO., LTD.) and Winning Eleven 2016 (Pro Evolution Soccer 2016) (Konami Digital Entertainment) to be released on October 1, 2015, and UNCHARTED THE NATHAN DRAKE COLLECTION from SCE to be released on October 8, 2015. Towards the holiday season, highly anticipated titles including Call of Duty: Black Ops III (SCE), Star Wars Battlefront (Electronic Arts Inc.), Bloodborne The Old Hunters(SCE) as well as Gravity Rush Remastered (SCE) will be released.

SCE will continue to expand the world of PS4 through attractive software titles and network services and deliver entertainment experiences that are only possible on PlayStation .
