We encourage participants to bring film ideas to develop, with one-on-one guidance from award-winning film professionals, into a commissionable storyboard format. 9.15-9.30am - Breakfast refreshments and registration.
9.30-9.45am - Welcome and introductions.
9.45-10.45am - Screening of two award winning films with analysis and insights from the creative and corporate professionals that produced them.
10.45-11am - Insights on the judging process and rationale by shortlisting chair and member of the judging panel for the 2018 tve Global Sustainability Film Awards.
11am-12.30pm - Development of individual film ideas and storyboards with one-on-one guidance and input from award-winning film professionals.
12.30-1pm Networking lunch. Please inform lucy.walmsley@tve.org.uk if you will be staying for lunch and if you have any dietary requirements before Wednesday 1 April, 5pm.
Workshop mentors include an Executive Creative Director from leading advertising agency Grey London and a representative from Volvo, who together commissioned the company's award-winning film The Unseen Ocean. Mentors also include Emma Murphy, Head of Film at the production company Life Size Media, who created Climeworks' film, Capturing CO2 from Air. Both films won awards at the 2018 tveGlobal Sustainability Film Awards at BAFTA. The workshop also includes insights from the sustainability communications strategist, Victoria Brooks, who was the shortlisting chair and on the judging panel for the 2018 Global Sustainability Film Awards.
At the end of this workshop, participants will have:
A step-by-step understanding of the film-commissioning process and an overview of film production in practice.
A clear understanding of what makes an engaging, inspiring and powerful sustainability film and what does not.
Experience of how best to work with a creative filmmaker to commission a film that communicates your company's sustainability story with real impact.
Experience of how to transform an idea for a CSR or sustainability communications project into the visualisation and basis of an impactful film in storyboard form.
An outline of a solid idea and storyboard to be able to commission this film with confidence should they so wish to.
The workshop is organised by tve, a not-for-profit media agency with 35 years of experience producing films, and inspiring viewers all around the world, about the environment and sustainable development. tve organises the annual Global Sustainability Film Awards, an international competition that invites companies to enter films about how they are meeting the challenges of the UN Sustainable Development goals within their business models doing business and doing good. The competition will open for entries in May.
