High speed railway linking Ningbo and Changsha launched

A high-speed railway linking Ningbo and Changsha has been opened to the public from May 20. It marks the first through train between the two cities.

The train G1416 departs from Ningbo at 6:56 a.m. every morning and arrives at Changsha South Station at 12:59 p.m.; while the train G1418 departs from Changsha at 3:36 p.m. and arrives at Ningbo at 9:32 p.m. The whole journey takes about 6 hours.

Therere currently 5 flights from Ningbo to Changsha every day and the air fare is about 200 yuan in this period. Though the train isnt competitive with its prices, it still attracts passengers to Jinhua, Quzhou, Shangrao, Nanchang, Yichun and Pingxiang, which are all along the railway line.

After the opening of the Hefei-Fuzhou High-speed Railway and the Guizhou section of the Hangzhou-Changsha High-speed Railway, passengers from Ningbo can take the bullet trains to Huangshan, Wuyishan and Guiyang.
