Arnaud Nourry made the following comments :
Marie-Claire Wastiaux s exactness, skill and enthusiasm have contributed to the growth of our company since 2003. I have hugely appreciated her expertise, work output and dedication and will miss her sorely.
Fabrice Bakhouche, who joined us last year as Senior Vice President for Strategy, has displayed a remarkably quick grasp of our industry s idiosyncracies and has all the qualities required to replace Marie-Claire Wastiaux after a few months of overlap, and succeed in what is clearly a strategic job for Hachette Livre.
Fabrice Bakhouche, a graduate of Institut d Etudes Politiques in Paris and of Ecole Nationale d Administration, began his career working for the agency that manages the French State s equity in private or state-controlled companies (2007-2011), and was subsequently appointed Deputy General manager of AFP, the French news agency. In 2012, he became advisor to the Prime Minister for the digital economy and in November 2014, was appointed Chief of Staff of France s cabinet minister for Media and Culture. In July 2017, he joined Hachette Livre as Senior Vice President for Strategy, reporting to CEO Arnaud Nourry.
A graduate of Ecole Polytechnique, Marie-Claire Wastiaux joined Hachette Livre early in 2003. She has been Chief Financial Officer since 2006 and Secretary General since 2008.
