NAB (Booth #SU902), Las Vegas, NV, April 7, 2013 Avid (NASDAQ: AVID) today announced Avid Interplay Pulse, a multi-platform content distribution solution. Pulse, representing another advancement of the Avid Everywhere vision, quickly delivers content to an ever-increasing variety of online, mobile, and social platforms everywhere, in the right form and format for each. In conjunction with Interplay Pulse, the Avid connected newsroom solution set enables news organizations of every size to combine story and video elements to deliver news as it happens, and distribute it to the devices consumers prefer.
In today's news industry, it's all about getting breaking news first to air and distributing it to the devices consumers prefer, said Chris Gahagan, senior vice president of Products and Services at Avid. To do this, Avid ties all the back-end production workflows together and automates the entire distribution process, making it easier for news staffs to report more relevant, compelling stories.

The Avid connected newsroom solution set is comprised of four industry-leading news creation tools and management products:
Avid Interplay Pulse Distribution solution for multi-platform content delivery now an option with iNEWS and Interplay Production. Pulse lets news staff produce and easily distribute stories for TV, web, mobile, and social platforms everywhere by automating back-end workflow processes.
iNEWS 4.5 Dynamic center of story creation, management, and distribution for newsrooms featuring unified web client and mobile apps. Journalists and editors can create and edit stories, and review video and rundowns from an iPad or iPhone. This keeps the news process moving and in sync, both in the field and at the station.
Interplay Production 3.0 Real-time collaborative environment for video content creation, management, and distribution featuring unified web client and mobile apps. This lets news staff easily search and incorporate stories and content from one or more newsrooms and production workgroups into complete news packages.
Interplay Sphere Extending real-time production everywhere, Interplay Sphere now features full Mac support. Field crews are fully connected to assets located in the newsroom and can mix locally acquired footage with material at the station, and complete the edit on a Mac or PC as the local footage is uploaded transparently, automatically, and in real-time.
Note: Base level software licenses for the Interplay Central web-based toolset are now standard for iNEWS and Interplay Production configurations (additional software licenses and servers are customer supplied).
