Free student event open to AES members

Returning for its seventh year, the AES UK section is hosting their annual student conference UP Your Output! The event provides students and recent graduates with the opportunity to learn in technical demos, network, and develop both friendships and career opportunities across all areas of audio engineering, from production skills to technology design.

This year's conference is being hosted by Southampton Solent University, and is to be held on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th March 2017.

Student Poster Competition

This year, for the first time, there is the opportunity for students to showcase their own project work in the student poster competition. This competition requires entrants to summarise their technical, research or production based project in the form of an A1 size poster. Projects must be individual, rather than group based projects. Registration

UP Your Output is aimed primarily at undergraduate students, although post-graduates are also most welcome to attend. The only stipulation is that you are a student members of the Audio Engineering Society.

Registration for the event will open on Friday 20th January 2017. Tickets are FREE for eligible students, but places are very limited. You will need your AES membership number to register.

If you are not already a student member of AES, the student membership rate of $50 USD gets you access not only to this conference, but to a host of other career opportunities, member benefits and even free plugins!

FE students

In order to promote careers in Audio Engineering, there are a limited number of free places available to students enrolled on Further Education courses (e.g. BTEC, A level or IBac) in audio engineering and related disciplines. FE students do not need to be a member of AES to attend the event. This is a great opportunity to meet employers to discuss career opportunities, meet students on courses in these areas, and learn about the topic from the technical talks and demos.
