Cheltenham Festival to air in Hungary following GBI Racing deal

British and Irish racing has launched in Hungary following a deal between GBI Racing and the Hungarian Racehorse Betting. The GBI Racing TV channel, which broadcasts British and Irish racing to betting shops and online operators in 46 countries, will be shown in more than 300 outlets in Hungary.

Races will be accompanied by Hungarian commentary and voiceovers from the studio in Budapest and will slot alongside local gallop and trotting racing,

The reach of GBI Racing continues to expand and hopes are high that Hungarian punters and fans will lap up British and Irish racing, said Richard Brooke, chairman of GBI Racing. What better way to kick off the arrangement than with the Cheltenham Festival?

In Hungary, the trotting season is all-year-round, while gallop racing is from April to November, with Kincsem Park in Budapest staging the main fixtures. Both are broadcast on national TV.
