Dalet Digital Media Systems demonstrated the smart I/O operations and flexible SDI/IP-based capabilities of its intelligent Dalet Brio platform. In a market moving increasingly away from proprietary hardware-based video servers toward software-based solutions focused on managing the conversion of streams-to-files and files-to-streams, convenient web-based administration with advanced tools for ingest, logging, and studio production enable Dalet Brio to manage complex multichannel recordings, conversions, and multiplatform playout scenarios.
With the move to virtualized infrastructure, I/O video servers that can take advantage of the new technology opportunities and manage streams-to-files and files-to-streams are part of the strategic conversation, says Matthieu Fasani, product manager, Dalet Brio. Today, Dalet customers utilizing Brio not only benefit from the highly convenient web-based administration and extensive codec and format support but are also [assured] that their I/O operations are IP- and cloud-ready, giving them the best of all worlds.
Advanced media organizations require an I/O solution that can adapt to new production infrastructures and manage content recordings, conversions, and playout to/from a number of devices for highly dynamic events, from the U.S. primaries to the New York Yankees' Opening Day. The Dalet Brio suite of applications - Multicam Manager, Logger, and Media Navigator - are purpose-built tools that allow broadcasters to expand the capabilities of the I/O Brio server to include multicamera control, comprehensive logging, and studio-production ingest and playout.
Dalet Brio allows customers to improve the way they manage the entire I/O operation, says Fasani. For example, the metadata logging capabilities of Dalet Logger significantly enrich content recorded into any MAM, PAM, or CMS system, which in turn optimizes productions. [With] content recorded to the cloud, content and logs become available to anyone around the globe, opening up opportunities for new workflows and revenue streams.
Dalet Brio is an integral part of any media workflow, whether as a standalone product, integrated with third-party platforms, or as part of the Dalet Galaxy enterprise-wide solution. The highly scalable solution allows customers like France TV to easily expand their Dalet Brio installation to meet new business needs.
France's Video Digital Multimedia (VDM) uses the Dalet Galaxy MAM platform featuring the Dalet Workflow Engine, including the BPMN 2.0-compliant designer and two Dalet Brio servers, to manage its expanding audio/visual-program preparation and production workflow. With Dalet Brio, VDM can manage vast amounts of content in the growing number of formats necessary to deliver media to just about any screen or platform in existence.
At Fox Network Group Europe's Fox Italy and Fox UK, several Dalet Brio video servers facilitate the comprehensive content-ingest and -delivery needs of both facilities, working in conjunction with the underlying Dalet Galaxy platform to streamline workflows. All programming content is centralized in one database, enhancing QC operations, promo production, and delivery of new and repackaged program content.
As part of Singapore broadcaster MediaCorp's ambitious MAM strategy, the Content Media eXchange (CMX) program standardizes ingest of material across 20 Dalet Brio server ports and harmonizes the archive workflow for the entire MediaCorp facility under command and control of the Dalet Galaxy platform.
Deployed at the NHL San Jose Sharks' SAP Center in San Jose, CA, Dalet Brio is used to manage ingest of the venue's eight camera feeds. In conjunction with Dalet Galaxy and Dalet AmberFin, the package features all of the logging, cataloging, postproduction, and distribution tools required for high-value, frictionless assembly, multiplatform distribution, and tactical analysis of game-day media.
