Vision Controller / Lighting Johannesburg

Setting up, balancing of camera functions pertaining to studio shoots, Recalling the correct lighting cues for each individual Production, Making adjustments to lighting as required for each shoot, Monitoring visual integrity of pictures being submitted for broadcast, Matching of cameras in terms of technical specs, colours, etc on a multi-cam shoot

Ensuring effective technical monitoring of visual content during productions

Enhancing visual product and the efficiencies and effectiveness of operations

Undertaking spot checks of vision and sound to ensure product is within broadcast specifications

VT/server operations, the recording, playback and checking of programmes/inserts recorded to tape and or server

Ensuring the correct procedures are adhered to with regards to laying programmes/inserts to tape

Requirements:

Relevant qualification will be an advantage

Working knowledge of formats, digital and analogues

Working knowledge of VT machines and the operating thereof

Working knowledge of television language and drama production

Working knowledge of composition

Understanding of basic lighting and how it will affect the vision controller's job

Understanding of basic requirements of the television signal parameters

Understanding of basic camera operations

Understanding of monitors, visuals

Understanding of how colour of lights, clothing, sets and any other influences will affect the job

Understanding of how tungsten vs. HMI vs. LED, sunlight and fluorescent affect the camera and corrective measures necessary

Understanding of depth of field, f-stops, detailing (aperture correction) etc

Understanding of studio camera work

Understanding of camera systems and their technical set ups

Understanding of good command of English language
