MAFIZ, the new Department of industry of the Festival of Malaga El MAFIZ (M laga Festival Industry Zone) est constituido por seis eventos que promueven la financiaci n, coproducci n, distribuci n y venta del cine en espa ol, todo ello desde el apoyo e impulso al nuevo talento audiovisual latinoamericano en su consideraci n de objetivo transversal para esta amplia rea industrial.

El Festival de M laga fue creado en 1998 por el Ayuntamiento de la ciudad con el objetivo de favorecer la difusi n y promoci n de la cinematograf a espa ola, acogiendo el encuentro de sus diversos sectores profesionales y potenciando su desarrollo as como su comercializaci n internacional . Ahora, en su recientemente celebrada 20 edici n, el Festival se proyecta a n m s hacia el mundo iberoamericano al entender lo espa ol' como un espacio de confluencia cultural, como un marco de encuentro y desarrollo para m s de una veintena de pa ses, con 580 millones de personas unidas por una lengua y cultura comunes, por una identidad que nos acerca y dimensiona en el mbito internacional.

Pero, junto a la integraci n del mundo iberoamericano, el Festival de M laga avanza tambi n en su posicionamiento como evento de referencia en el apartado de Industria Audiovisual. Con este motivo, se han mantenido en los ltimos meses -especialmente en el European Film Market, de Berl n, y el March du Film, de Cannes- distintas reuniones con institutos de cine iberoamericanos, fondos internacionales y otros agentes del sector audiovisual, lo que ha permitido cerrar importantes acuerdos en materia de coproducci n con el sector audiovisual latinoamericano.

Fruto de este trabajo de posicionamiento industrial y con el objetivo de hacer m s eficiente su gesti n, el Festival ha creado una Zona de Industria que engloba un conjunto de eventos dise ados para fortalecer las producciones cinematogr ficas iberoamericanas. El MAFIZ (M laga Festival Industry Zone) est constituido por seis eventos que promueven la financiaci n, coproducci n, distribuci n y venta del cine en espa ol, todo ello desde el apoyo e impulso al nuevo talento audiovisual latinoamericano en su consideraci n de objetivo transversal para esta amplia rea industrial. Un proyecto que cuenta, adem s, con el patrocinio y apoyo de FIPCA (Federaci n Iberoamericana de Productores Cinematogr ficos y Audiovisuales) desde la consideraci n del valor estrat gico de este evento para el audiovisual iberoamericano.

Como n cleo central del MAFIZ se sit an los SPANISH SCREENINGS M LAGA DE CINE, evento coorganizado con FAPAE, que, contando con la colaboraci n de ICEX, ICAA, EGEDA y Junta de Andaluc a, se dise a como plataforma internacional de venta y promoci n del cine en espa ol. A este se une un evento de nueva creaci n, el MAFF - M laga Festival Fund & Coproduction Event, un espacio de Industria que permitir a los productores latinoamericanos encontrarse y presentar sus proyectos a los responsables de los Fondos Internacionales y productores de Espa a y resto de Europa. Un evento nico que dar la oportunidad de conocer las l neas editoriales de estos Fondos, as como sus aspectos financieros y modalidades de aplicaci n.

El MAFIZ se completa con otros cuatro proyectos: Latinamerican Focus, un encuentro bilateral entre Espa a y un pa s latinoamericano con el objetivo de reforzar el networking y las coproducciones de las empresas productoras de ambos pa ses; M laga Docs, encuentro de an lisis y reflexi n en torno al documental, donde los profesionales m s importantes de este g nero se re nen para compartir su mirada sobre el cine documental latinoamericano; M laga Work in Progress, tiene como objetivo impulsar la financiaci n de pel culas en fase de producci n para favorecer su finalizaci n y distribuci n internacional; y M laga Talent, un puente entre la industria y el talento, entre Espa a y Latinoam rica. Fomentar el conocimiento de equipos profesionales y construir sinergias creativas son sus objetivos.

El Festival de M laga celebrar su 21 edici n del 13 al 22 de abril de 2018, en la que el MAFIZ se convertir en plataforma industrial para la coproducci n y el impulso del nuevo talento iberoamericano.
