NFVF congratulates all SAFTAs Nominees

The South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs) Nominees were announced at Atlas Studio in Johannesburg on the 24th of February 2015. Hosted by Kaya FM's Kuli Roberts, the star-studded event served to recognise the best talents in the South African Film and Television industry.

The National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF) would like to congratulate all the nominees of the SAFTAs. The awards honour, celebrate and promote the creativity, quality and excellence of South African Film and Television talent and productions, and serve to encourage entrepreneurship and the development of new talent within the industry.

Speaking on behalf of the NFVF, Ms. Zama Mkosi, NFVF CEO said, We're encouraged by the support the industry continues to provide to the awards. Since the SAFTAs' launch in 2005, the awards have grown every year, attesting to the rapid industry growth we continue to experience. Ms. Mkosi further emphasized that the industry is Coming of Age', a milestone that marks the celebration of both individual and team efforts, the hard work and sacrifices that have been made to create quality content.

The NFVF would like to congratulate those involved in the industry and for making it a success it is today. From soapies to documentaries, dramas to TV comedy; the actors, directors, makeup artist, cinematographers and hair stylist; South African film and television industries are what they are because of the creativity and excellence we continue to portray in our productions, Ms. Mkosi added in conclusion.

In striving to recognise all those involved in the industry including the loyal viewers, it was announced in 2014 that there would be a new award to celebrate the achievements of presenters. The Best Presenter award will be decided through a public vote. In order to vote, the public should sms the code of their favourite presenter to 33100. The list of presenters and their codes can be found on the NFVF website, www.nfvf.co.za as well as the SAFTAs Facebook. Please note sms costs R1.50.

All the winners of the South African Film and Television awards will be announced at spectacular events on 20th and 22nd of March.
