Lawo Delivers Audio Excellence for Europes Largest Classical Open-Air Concert on Bastille Day

As more than tens of thousands of spectators filled Paris' Champ de Mars and millions more followed the event on television, radio, and international broadcasts, Lawo once again provided the IP-based audio processing infrastructure for the 2026 Concert de Paris. Presented at the foot of the Eiffel Tower as part of France's National Day celebrations, the event brought together the Orchestre National de France, the Ch ur and Ma trise de Radio France, and a world-class roster of soloists under the direction of Daniel Harding. Powered by Lawo's mc production consoles, A__UHD Core audio engines, RAVENNA networking, and HOME management platform, the production delivered pristine sound for audiences on-site and across more than 70 countries.

Now in its 14th edition, Concert de Paris has established itself as one of the most-watched classical music events in the world. Exceptionally held on July 13 this year, the concert was broadcast live on France 2, France Inter, and via the Eurovision and Euroradio networks. Ahead of the main event, the Ma trise de Radio France, Radio France's young vocal ensemble, marked its 80th anniversary with a dedicated opening set.

To meet the demanding requirements of simultaneous live-sound reinforcement, stage monitoring, and international broadcast production, Radio France deployed a fully redundant Lawo AoIP infrastructure. The system centered on three mc 56 production consoles connected to a redundant pair of A__UHD Core audio engines via a redundant RAVENNA network. A centralized HOME cluster provided system-wide device management, connection control, security, and operational monitoring, creating a highly resilient production environment ideally suited to a mission-critical live event of this scale.

Radio France's live sound team, led by Christophe Lukaszewski, operated the public-address system using two Lawo 48-fader mc 56 consoles at front-of-house. While St phane Thouvenin handled soloists and choirs, Nad ge Antonini mixed the orchestra and managed PA outputs, under the guidance of Beno t Gaspard. On stage, Tahar Boukhlifa and Charles Bouticourt, coordinated by Cyprien Matheux, worked from a dual-operator mc 56 setup, providing precise monitor mixes and seamless communication with performers throughout the evening.

This edition marked the first use of Lawo's new Dynamic EQ functionality at Concert de Paris, adding further tonal precision to the live sound workflow. For the audience, both on-site and remote, the result was a detailed, natural, and immersive listening experience that faithfully conveyed every nuance of the orchestra, choir, and soloists. For the musicians, the Lawo platform delivered ultra-low-latency monitoring and exceptional sonic transparency, enabling confident performances in a challenging outdoor environment. For the engineering team, the IP-based architecture provided flexible routing, instant resource sharing between consoles, and comprehensive redundancy.

Broadcast audio production was handled from Radio France's OB facilities using a Lawo mc 66 MkII console. Julien Bourdais, Laurent Fracchia, and Arnaud Moral created the international broadcast mix for French radio and television as well as Eurovision distribution, ensuring consistent audio quality across every platform.

The 2026 program featured internationally acclaimed performers including Corinne Winters, Marina Viotti, Farrah El-Dibany, Jakub J zef Orli ski, Lawrence Brownlee, Daniel Lozakovich, Gautier Capu on, Hayato Sumino, Masaya Kamei, and Ad la de Ferri re, accompanied by the Orchestre National de France, Ch ur de Radio France, and Ma trise de Radio France under Daniel Harding.

The evening concluded with La Marseillaise and the spectacular Eiffel Tower fireworks display, enhanced this year by 1,600 drones and viewed by an audience estimated at over one hundred thousand people on-site.

For yet another year, Lawo's audio technology enabled one of the world's most prestigious live music productions to operate with uncompromising audio quality, flexibility, and reliability - bringing performers, audiences, broadcasters, and listeners together for a shared celebration of music on France's national stage.
