Calrec is expanding its family of future-ready self-contained Argo M control surfaces at IBC2025, with the addition of a brand new powerful 48-fader console. Completing the Argo M range and the Argo family, the new console enables broadcasters to utilise the extra fader count whilst still embracing its space-saving design.
On Stand 8.C47, Calrec is presenting a range of new enhancements to showcase a live ecosystem that integrates Argo, the modular Type R mixing system, ImPulse processing core and ImPulseV virtualised cloud audio mixing engine. With the company's flexible and award-winning True Control 2.0 delivering seamless connectivity, Calrec is demonstrating how broadcasters can streamline workflows, boost creativity, reduce costs and adapt to today's dynamic media landscape.
Available out of the box
Argo M delivers all the power, familiarity, and reliability of Calrec's flagship Argo platform in a streamlined 24, 36 and new 48-fader footprint. Compact yet uncompromising, it maximises desk space with full-sized fader strips and intuitive controls built for the most demanding productions. With plug-and-play ST2110 and cloud connectivity, Argo M gives immediate high-performance control, so broadcasters can focus on what matters most, creating outstanding content at scale.
With up to 356 channels of internal DSP, Argo M features built-in analogue and digital audio I/O and GPIO, 3 x modular I/O expansion slots, and a MADI I/O port via SFP. The ability to connect to an ST2110 networked environment and to an existing Calrec ImPulse core alongside other Argo surfaces means it can quickly create multi-console IP environments, while connectivity to ImPulse, ImPulse1 and ImPulseV means additional external DSP paths can be easily added as production demands change.
With seamless ST2110 integration, touchscreens that can switch between metering and intuitive UI control, and support for immersive formats up to 7.1.4, Argo M addresses the industry's need for super-compact and portable IP mixing solutions designed to meet the full spectrum of live broadcast production demands.
Calrec Argo S: Delivering precision, power and IP audio innovation
Calrec is also demonstrating its award-winning 48-fader Argo S console at the show, which is sporting a new software update exclusively previewing at IBC. Built for demanding broadcast environments, Argo S is a modular, IP-native audio console. With enough customisable hands-on real estate to deliver control over every parameter of the audio mix, Argo S is designed to adapt to broadcaster needs without compromising control or resilience.
Calrec's new v1.4 Argo software introduces enhanced routing strip functionality that enables users to view every fader's routing simultaneously on the touchscreen and switch rows of physical controls to other strip modes such as EQ, Dyn, or Pan. It also enables Argo Q to support two sets of custom wild panels per section. A new Tiles feature allows fully customisable up-stand meter layouts with thumbnails, while the mix minus workflow has been streamlined, enabling any bus to feed a channel's mix minus output rather than just the auto-minus. It also adds the ability to select a different output when fader closed to when it's open and allows users to interrogate the console to access routing information of buses being used for a path's main output.
Additional updates include DAW control of MIDI on the Argo platform, improved NMOS control, enhanced status updates and monitoring and seamless integration with Calrec Connect.
True Control 2.0: Seamless remote control across all consoles and DSP cores
Transforming broadcast workflows to enable fully remote and distributed production, True Control 2.0 allows users to control any Calrec system from any location, giving access to more cores, faders, surfaces and control to meet any production requirement. At IBC2025, Calrec is highlighting True Control 2.0's power and versatility across the product range.
True Control 2.0 delivers full feature-set control parameters over EQ, dynamics, routing, direct outputs and delay. Broadcasters can scale production ecosystems quickly, supporting distributed workflows with a deep level of remote control. A single controller can manage up to five other consoles or processing cores simultaneously, expanding functionality without extra hardware investment.
True Control 2.0 is compatible with Argo Q, Argo S, Argo M and Type R consoles, the cloud-based ImPulseV mixer, and ImPulse and ImPulse1 cores. Calrec has also added Apollo+ and Artemis+ to the True Control ecosystem. Any True Control 2.0 enabled product can remotely control any other, giving broadcasters unprecedented flexibility, scalability, and efficiency across their audio production workflows.
ImPulseV: Scale resources for different productions
Calrec's ImPulseV is a virtualised DSP core in a cloud-native AWS environment. Accessible globally, it uses the same familiar Calrec user interface and can be controlled via Calrec's Assist web UI, directly from any Calrec Argo or any True Control 2.0 enabled console. Delivering Calrec's full broadcast feature set directly in the cloud with premium audio quality, it reduces reliance on physical hardware. Optimised for low latency throughput, real-time audio processing, control routing and mixing, ImPulseV allows broadcasters to flex resources for major events. Its cost-effective OpEx model also opens opportunities for smaller productions that may have been previously financially challenging.
Type R: Modular, scalable, remote
Calrec is also showcasing its Type R modular, expandable IP mixing system, controlled by True Control 2.0. It too is designed to encourage customers to take advantage of distributed production and flexible workflows. Type R's IP core enables broadcasters to be
