Affiperf co-founder joins SpotX to help media owners and advertisers optimise programmatic video advertising in France
LONDON 15th June, 2017 - SpotX, the video ad serving platform, continues to grow its operations in Europe with the appointment of a new Managing Director for France. Sebastien Robin will be based in Paris responsible for building the business and driving the commercial success of SpotX in France.
Reporting into Leon Siotis, Managing Director of SpotX in the UK and Southern Europe, Robin will recruit and manage a team to support media owners in France with video ad-serving and cross-screen programmatic monetisation including Connected TV opportunities. He will also be responsible for supporting advertisers and their agencies and local demand-side platforms (DSPs) in facilitating demand for French inventory including creating private marketplaces and Curated Marketplaces.
Robin brings almost twenty years of advertising industry experience to the role. In 2010, he co-founded Affiperf, Havas' agency trading desk, spending four years as COO growing the company to deliver in excess of 100 million turnover. He then spent almost three years as Global Programmatic Director of Havas driving global partnerships and scaling programmatic advertising revenues across all channels. This included product development, such as the meta DSP for Affiperf, and the development of the client trading solution, (CTS) for Havas Media. Robin devised global training initiatives, including working as Content Director for the Havas 100% Programmatic University launched globally in January this year, and also participated in many global pitches for brands including VW Group, Emirates, Philips, Total, Michelin, EA and Disney.
Commenting on the appointment, Leon Siotis, Managing Director, UK and Southern Europe at SpotX, explains, Sebastien Robin brings extensive programmatic advertising experience to SpotX. The media industry in France is very forward-thinking, with a high proportion of advertising spend delivered programmatically and a mature video landscape. Robin is the expert on growing a business in the region. He has solid buy- and supply-side experience and has worked alongside many of our existing clients and partners before, making him perfectly placed to support them, as well as expand and drive further success for them and SpotX in France.
Sebastien Robin, Managing Director of SpotX France, adds, I have always been interested in automation, harnessing technology to improve customer service and effectiveness from the early days of my career. Programmatic video is the most exciting part of the industry and this move is a logical next step for me. I'm pleased to be working with such a strong team of people, whom I have known for many years, and who are taking such a collaborative approach to working with the media industry in Europe. I am looking forward to combining the skills I have learned over the past twenty years in advertising to manage a P&L again and drive more success for French broadcasters, media owners and advertisers.
Robin began his career in online advertising in 1999 at Numeriland Comclick - later acquired by Hi-Media - working with media owners in France. He then honed his skills in media automation and biddable media at e-spotting which was acquired by MIVA, before co-founding Affiperf at Havas.
Robin joins in August and will be based in SpotX's office in Neuilly sur-Seine. SpotX's customers in France include VICE, Gameloft and La Place Media.
