RJAH Extends Fujifilm SYNAPSE PACS Contract to 2023

The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital (RJAH) is a leading orthopaedic centre of excellence and has had Fujifilm SYNAPSE PACS and SYNAPSE 3D, which is essential for surgical planning, since 2013. As a specialist hospital with a reputation for innovation, RJAH provides a comprehensive range of musculoskeletal surgical, medical and rehabilitation services.

Extending our Fujifilm PACS Managed Service contract to September 2023 has delivered numerous benefits to the RJAH Radiology Directorate said Eric Hughes, the Diagnostics Divisional Manager. The Fujifilm team worked with us to assess and understand the challenges we faced as a department. Together we then established the Imaging and IT solutions needed to improve our workflow, our patient experience and our department.

As part of the contract extension, I am delighted that we have now added a range of new imaging and diagnostics solutions to our system portfolio. These include the Synapse Vendor Neutral Archive, Fujifilm's FDR D-EVO GL long-length digital imaging detector, Fujifilm DR Retrofits for two analogue rooms and the SyncroDose Radiation Dose Index Monitoring System. These additions reflect our commitment to investing in our imaging systems for the long term, and digitally optimising x-ray image quality whilst supporting our ongoing objective to reduce dose levels.

During the refresh of the Reporting workstations, the transition was really smooth and the Fujifilm engineers were professional and friendly in their approach. All consultant radiologists now have state of the art workstations which are very responsive, and come with the latest 6MP diagnostic display and advanced productivity tools.

The contract extension will also see RJAH move over to the latest generation of Fujifilm PACS - SYNAPSE 5 - which delivers exceptional image display speeds due to the HTML 5 based zero footprint design. This technology leads to increased productivity, secure patient data and privacy controls, enhanced clinical collaboration and optimised workflow, all of which will benefit RJAH and its patients.
