Eutelsat launches the new satellite 172B which will strengthen the coverage in Asia-Pacific El primer sat lite el ctrico de alta potencia construido por Airbus ya va en camino hacia la rbita geoestacionaria El sat lite Eutelsat 172B de Eutelsat Communications ha sido lanzado exitosamente al espacio por un cohete Ariane 5 desde la base de Kourou. Los primeros datos de telemetr a del sat lite de 3.5 toneladas han sido recibidos y se est n realizando los preparativos para el despliegue de los paneles solares el 3 de junio, seguido del despliegue 22 horas m s tarde de los brazos rob ticos que sostienen el sistema de propulsi n el ctrica del sat lite que permitir su ascenso a la rbita geoestacionaria. El nuevo sat lite de Eutelsat entrar en operaci n durante el cuarto trimestre de 2017.
Eutelsat 172B aumentar la capacidad disponible para aplicaciones de r pido crecimiento como conectividad en vuelo y mar tima, backhaul celular, redes corporativas, distribuci n de video y servicios gubernamentales. Estar ubicado en 172 Este, una posici n orbital clave que proporciona un alcance excepcional de Asia y el Pac fico, tanto en el mar como en tierra, desde Alaska hasta Australia. Dise ado para reemplazar el sat lite Eutelsat 172A, proporcionar una mayor capacidad, m s potencia y una cobertura mejorada a trav s de cargas tiles de banda C y banda Ku de amplia cobertura.
Conectividad en vuelo
Eutelsat 172B tambi n incorpora una nueva carga til multihaz de banda Ku que entrega 1.8 Gbps de rendimiento para servir a la regi n de m s r pido crecimiento en el mundo para el tr fico a reo. Asia Pac fico representa la mayor oportunidad para servicios de entretenimiento y conectividad en vuelo, con m s de 8,000 aviones que volar n por la regi n en 2034.
La carga til de alto rendimiento (HTS) del nuevo sat lite ser una plataforma importante de crecimiento para la conectividad en vuelo, en particular para Panasonic Avionics Corporation, uno de los principales proveedores de servicios de entretenimiento y conectividad a bordo para aerol neas comerciales. Once haces el pticos permitir n a Panasonic unir la costa oeste de Norteam rica con Asia y Australia, apoyando el r pido crecimiento del tr fico a reo en la regi n y el uso de ancho de banda en rutas de vuelo densamente utilizadas.
