Rachel Corp appointed as ITN CEO

ITN is delighted to announce that Rachel Corp has been appointed as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Rachel is currently Editor of ITV News, produced by ITN, where she has overall responsibility for the vision, strategy and direction for all of ITV's award-winning national news programmes and digital output, as well as overseeing ITV News London, ITV News-produced Tonight programme episodes, current affairs series On Assignment, and special live programmes such as General Elections and Royal events. In this role, Rachel leads a team of over 300 people in the UK and abroad while overseeing a multi-million-pound budget.

Under her Editorship ITV News has broken a string of major stories in recent years, including the Westminster Partygate' scandal, the series of reports into substandard conditions in council housing, the undercover investigation into Amazon's disposal of unsold products and the global exclusive eyewitness report from inside the storming of the US Capitol. ITV News has been recognised with numerous major awards over the last year, including the prestigious Royal Television Society award for Best Daily News Programme for the second year in a row.

As a key member of ITN's senior leadership team she has played an integral role in the development of Company strategy and business continuity, as well as major initiatives around Diversity and Inclusion and ITN's ongoing operational response during the global pandemic. She is also Chair of ITN's cross-Company Digital Development Group, driving collaboration to improve performance and develop new products and commercial opportunities.

ITN has transformed itself over the last decade, continuing to produce high-quality broadcast news while simultaneously making a wide range of TV programmes, films, podcasts, advertising, sports, digital, educational and corporate content, as well as providing services including virtual events, post-production and news syndication. ITN's clients include ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5, Netflix, Google, World Athletics, Discovery and CBS.

Rachel will take up her new role on September 1st, with current CEO Deborah Turness continuing to lead the organisation until then.

Rachel first joined ITN as a trainee and her early career included working on the launch of 5 News, as well as the roles of North of England and Senior Field Producer, covering major stories in the UK and abroad, from Kosovo, Afghanistan and Iraq to the Hutton Inquiry and the Soham murders.

Following spells as the BBC's Senior Moscow Producer and as Head of Channels at digital production company WebsEdge, she returned to ITV News as a News Editor, rising to Deputy Head of Home News and Head of Home News, during which time her reporting team twice won the coveted Royal Television Society Home News Award, for coverage of the rise of jihadi terror and an exclusive investigation into travel company Thomas Cook.

She went on to become Editor of ITV News London, overseeing the London Mayoral Election live debates, coverage of the EU Referendum and agenda-setting investigations such as the West London Coroner's Service.

She moved to ITN stable-mate 5 News as Editor in 2017, leading the team through its coverage of terror attacks, the Grenfell disaster and a snap general election, and setting the agenda with committed coverage on the issue of sexual harassment.

Rachel returned to ITV News in 2018 and has led the newsroom during an incredibly busy news period with multiple elections, Brexit, the Trump presidency, the COVID-19 pandemic, the climate crisis and the war in Ukraine dominating the agenda, as well as launching the newly extended ITV Evening News.
