It has been revealed that when actress Omuhle Gela left Uzalo with immediate effect, the producers of the SABC 1 drama were bumping their heads looking for a replacement.

Zimoja reports that the mother of one was allegedly unhappy because she moved from Johannesburg to KwaZulu-Natal for the show, only to be given a contract that had different terms from what she and the production company had initially agreed on.

THE CHAOS OMUHLE LEFT According to the publication, the former Muvhango actress' departure from the show apparently left chaos in the production.

Producers were under immense stress because they had just finished shooting Season 8, which ended in September and Omuhle had already shot most scenes for season 9, a close source said.

Remember Omuhle had started shooting Season 9, so they needed to reshoot with the new person. They couldn't have two different characters as one person as that was going to be confusing, added the source.

PRODUCERS NOT HAPPY OLD NOMASWAZI'S ACTING? A source told Zimoja that the reason for Gela's departure may have been because the bosses of the show were not impressed with her acting.

She was then informed that her character, Nomaswazi, would be recast. Producers of the show were apparently following Fanele's work for some time after the disagreements with Omuhle started.

She was their first option and luckily for them she agreed to join Uzalo, the source told Zimoja.
