Thomas Gumede and Lungile Radebe's Parental Advisory Productions telenovela Nikiwe will not be renewed for a second season on e.tv.

NIKIWE' ENDS Entertainment commentator Phil Mphela has announced that e.tv has canned its telenovela, Nikiwe, which is led by The Wife star Lungelo Mpangase
Nikiwe cancelled. The e.tv telenovela will not have a second season. The show's production has been on hold and this week the channel decided to cancel it, tweeted Mphela.

The channel also revealed in a statement that the show will be coming to an end in early 2024 due to low ratings.
This comes after Zimoja reported in July that Nikiwe booted its head writer, Siphosethu Tshapu and replaced her with writer Bongi Ndaba as the show wasn't doing well compared to Smoke and Mirrors, Scandal! and House of Zwide.
An actor who didn't want to be named revealed to the publication that the show is not doing well at all, and this is in comparison to the other shows.

E.tv viewers revealed on social media that they were not surprised by the cancellation as the show is currently competing with popular shows, Skeem Saam and Sibongile and The Dlaminis which also air at 18:30.
