Botswana filmmaker produces TV series on high profile Africans --

Billy Kokorwe, a filmmaker from Botswana, is currently in Paris working on the production of an African issues based television show titled Portrait of Africa. The thirteen episode series will profile top African achievers from around the world including statesmen, diplomats, football stars, philanthropists, models and musicians who promote a positive image of the continent.

Portrait of Africa aims to be an uplifting chat show which will change negative perceptions about Africa abroad.

Each sixty minute episode will showcase the subject s lifestyle and feature insightful interviews hosted by Kokorwe. Discussions will be based on pertinent socio- economic issues affectimg Africa and their possible solutions.

Portrait of Africa will be produced, edited and distributed by Kokorwes London-based Heritage Media House. Heritage Media House has previously produced interviews with high profile personalities such as former British Prime Minister Tony Blaire, former United Nations secretary general Kofi Annan, former Botswana presidents Ketumile Masire and Festus Mogae, former British cabinet ministers Tony Benn and Baroness Chalker as well as South African speaker of parliament Baleka Mbete.

Filming is scheduled to begin in London in July and the series is due to be released in Europe, America and Africa in December 2015. The filmmaker is currently holding discussions with several major broadcasters in a bid to extend the programme to Francophone countries.
