-- THE RIVER' MOURNS PHASHA 1Magic's popular telenovela The River is the recent production to pay tribute to late actor Patrick Shai who played the role of Phasha on the show.

--

The cast and crew recently posted videos and their favourite behind-the-scenes moments with the thespian.

The production company Tshedza Pictures applauded him for his exceptional wordplay and for the way he brought the script to life in his recent role as Mr Phasha alongside Seputla Sebogodi.

Sebogodi paid tribute to the actor on his Instagram a few days ago, saying he is going to miss his Jita'.

--

The production company posted a video of him with the caption:

It is with great sadness to come to terms with the passing of such a remarkable talent.

Ntate Patrick was full of life, inspired his fellow actors, extras, crew, everyone on set to love one another.

Today, we say thank you for your craft, for your art, for your kindness, and all that you gave us, may you take a bow and rest in eternal peace.

PATRICK SHAI PASSES ON The legendary actor Patrick Shai's family confirmed that he died on Saturday (22 January).

His industry friends such as Sello Maake KaNcube and Fana Mokoena are still grappling with his passing.

The actor was loved for his energy and for bringing his A-game into the roles he played over the years.

The River was Shai's last show before he took his own life this past weekend.

Lunga Mofokeng also shared a video with the cast for Patrick's wife Mmasechaba Shai on their recent 38th anniversary.

The wisdom I've gained in a short space of time with you is incredible.

You told me to keep pushing and how much you and your wife love the work we do as a team.

Went on to acknowledge my scenes that got you excited about the craft. I thank you, Great King, wrote Lunga.
