Partnership presents free documentary screenings through the Full Frame Road Show
The Full Frame Documentary Film Festival, Capitol Broadcasting Company and the American Tobacco Campus recently announced their exciting partnership for the Full Frame Road Show presented by Capitol Broadcasting Company and the American Tobacco Campus. The Road Show presents free documentary film screenings to the Triangle community year-round, showcasing contemporary documentary work, and enhancing the public understanding and appreciation of the art form.
Full Frame, both the festival and theater, are integral pieces of what makes Durham the vibrant, thriving boomtown residents love and visitors can't get enough of, says Michael Goodmon, vice president of real estate, Capitol Broadcasting Company. We're excited to help share this piece of Durham's culture and excitement with audiences throughout the Triangle.
We are thrilled to extend our relationship with Capitol Broadcasting Company and American Tobacco Campus in a way that helps us give back to Durham and the larger Triangle community, who have supported us for so long, said Full Frame Director Deirdre Haj. This partnership helps us achieve our mission to make documentaries more accessible to a wider audience, beyond our annual festival. It is an honor to collaborate with a long-standing pillar of the community to nurture conversation with our neighbors.
Road show screenings take place every Third Friday between May and November at the Full Frame Theater at the American Tobacco Campus in downtown Durham, and selected other dates at venues throughout the Triangle. In 2016, Road Show screenings were held at The Cary Theater in downtown Cary, the Silverspot Cinema at Chapel Hill, and the North Carolina Museum of Art in Raleigh.
The 20th annual Full Frame Documentary Film Festival will be held April 6-9, 2017, in Durham, N.C., with Duke University as the presenting sponsor.
About Full Frame
The Full Frame Documentary Film Festival is an annual international event dedicated to the theatrical exhibition of nonfiction cinema. Each spring, Full Frame welcomes filmmakers and film lovers from around the world to historic downtown Durham, N.C., for a four-day, morning-to-midnight array of nearly 100 films, as well as discussions, panels, and Southern hospitality. Set within a few city blocks, the intimate festival landscape fosters community and conversation among filmmakers, film professionals, and the general public. The 2016 Full Frame Documentary Film Festival yielded $2,788,650 for Durham's local economy, and had a local tax impact of $81,890. Full Frame also promotes the festival's mission throughout the year by presenting documentary work in the Full Frame Theater and other venues both locally and nationally.
The Festival is a program of the Center for Documentary Studies, a nonprofit 501(c)3, and receives support from corporate sponsors, private foundations, and individual donors whose generosity provides the foundation that makes the event possible.
