Nachwuchswissenschaftler und Schulen ausgezeichnet
Innovation Award als Teil der Innovationskultur in Deutschland
Die Schaeffler FAG Stiftung hat am 23. April 2013 den Innovation Award 2012 f r herausragende Dissertationen, Masterarbeiten und Forschungsberichte sowie f r besondere schulische Projekte verliehen. Maria-Elisabeth Schaeffler und ihr Sohn Georg F. W. Schaeffler, Gesellschafter der Schaeffler Gruppe, und Dr. J rgen M. Gei inger, Vorsitzender des Vorstands der Schaeffler AG, bergaben die Auszeichnungen im Rahmen einer Feierstunde in Schweinfurt an die Preistr ger. Ehrengast und Festredner war Professor Dr. Robert Grebner, Pr sident der Hochschule W rzburg-Schweinfurt.
Erstmals in diesem Jahr und danach alle zwei Jahre wurde der Honorary Award mit einer Dotierung von 25.000 Euro vergeben. Der Award w rdigt exzellente Leistungen und Kompetenzen in Wissenschaft, Forschung und Lehre auf technisch-wissenschaftlichem Gebiet gem dem Stiftungszweck. Der erste Honorary Award wurde an die Stiftung Institut f r Werkstofftechnik Bremen (IWT) verliehen. Das Institut hat ber viele Jahre hinweg die Schaeffler FAG Stiftung in ihrem Wettbewerb um den Innovation Award sehr erfolgreich unterst tzt. Aus fr heren Wettbewerben der Stiftung gingen bereits zahlreiche Preistr ger des IWT Bremen hervor. Au erdem wurden sieben Nachwuchs-Wissenschaftler und Studenten geehrt, die mit ihren wissenschaftlichen Arbeiten auf den Gebieten Fertigungstechnologie, Produktinnovation und Marketingstrategie einen wichtigen Beitrag zur Weiterentwicklung der W lzlagertechnik geleistet haben. Dar ber hinaus erhielten auch drei schulische Projekte eine Auszeichnung, die das Verst ndnis und die Begeisterung f r Naturwissenschaft und Technik bei Sch lerinnen und Sch lern f rdern. Drei weitere schulische Anerkennungspreise werden zu einem sp teren Zeitpunkt verliehen. Insgesamt wurden neben dem Honorary Award Preisgelder in H he von 27.000 Euro vergeben.
Seit ihrer Gr ndung 1983 f rdert die Schaeffler FAG Stiftung Wissenschaft, Forschung und Lehre auf naturwissenschaftlich-technischem Gebiet und unterst tzt daneben auch schulische Leistungen. Weltweit ber 1.000 Kontakte zu renommierten Universit ten und Instituten sichern die enge Vernetzung der Stiftung mit der Wissenschaft. Die diesj hrige Rekordbeteiligung mit ber 30 hochkar tigen Bewerbungen belegt erneut, dass der Innovation Award zu den bedeutenden Technik-Stiftungspreisen in Deutschland geh rt , so Klaus Widmaier, Vorsitzender des Stiftungsvorstands und Gesch ftsleitung Personal Schaeffler Industrie, in seiner Moderation.
Maria-Elisabeth Schaeffler bezeichnete in ihrer Laudatio das IWT Bremen als w rdigen ersten Preistr ger des Honorary Awards der Schaeffler FAG Stiftung . Ausschlaggebend daf r seien eine exzellente Forschung, das erfolgreiche und langj hrige Engagement des Instituts bei der Durchf hrung des Innovation Awards und das Engagement f r die F rderung des wissenschaftlich-technischen Nachwuchses. Die Schaeffler Gruppe baue unternehmerisch weiterhin auf die tief in der Tradition des Weltunternehmens verankerte Innovationsorientierung und die Schaeffler FAG Stiftung leiste durch ihre F rderleistungen und die damit verbundende Vernetzungen ihren Teil zu einer Innovationskultur in Deutschland.
Dr. J rgen M. Gei inger begl ckw nschte alle Preistr ger und dankte allen betreuenden Professoren, Schulleitern und Projektbetreuern der Sch lergruppen, die sich erfolgreich an dem Stiftungswettbewerb beteiligt haben. Das F rdern und Fordern des Strebens nach Wissen wird auch im Unternehmen intensiv weitergef hrt. Die Ingenieure der Schaeffler Gruppe zeichneten sich durch kreatives Engineering mit oft unkonventionellen Ans tzen aus. Bestehendes in Frage stellen, ungew hnliche Wege gehen und andere Sichtweisen wagen, das sind die Voraussetzungen f r die Verwirklichung neuer au ergew hnlicher Ideen, so Dr. Gei inger.
Als Festredner referierte Professor Dr. Robert Grebner, Pr sident der Hochschule W rzburg-Schweinfurt, ber den Wissenskreislauf als Voraussetzung daf r, dass sich Praxis und Theorie berhaupt verstehen . So produzierten Schulen und Hochschulen Wissen in den K pfen der Sch ler und Studierenden. Als Absolventen k men diese in die Wirtschaft und wendeten ihr Wissen als Fachkr fte an. Gleicherma en k men Fachkr fte aus der Wirtschaft zur ck an die Hochschulen und g ben dort ihr Praxiswissen an Studierende weiter.
Die Preistr ger
Den ersten Honorary Award der Schaeffler FAG Stiftung mit einer Dotierung von 25.000 Euro erhielt das IWT (Institut f r Werkstofftechnik) Bremen. Der Award wurde an den Gesch ftsf hrenden Direktor des IWT, Herrn Prof. Dr.-Ing. Hans-Werner Zoch und seine Kollegen, stellvertretend f r viele Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter des IWT, bergeben.
In der Wissenschaftsf rderung ging der erste Preis im Segment Advanced Manufacturing an M. Sc. Dustin Knetsch f r die Masterarbeit Bestimmung des Einflusses des Verfestigungsmodells auf die Ausbildung und Sensitivit t von Geometrie und Eigenspannungen in der Umformsimulation , die an der Friedrich-Alexander-Universit t Erlangen-N rnberg, Lehrstuhl f r Fertigungstechnologie, Prof. Dr. Marion Merklein, in Kooperation mit der Zentralen Berechnungsabteilung/Prozesssimulation der Schaeffler Technologies AG & Co. KG, Herzogenaurach, entstand. Einen dritten Preis erhielt Dr.-Ing. Drazen Veselovac f r die Dissertation Process and Product Monitoring in the Drilling of Critical Aero Engine Components . Die Arbeit entstand an der RWTH Aachen, Lehrstuhl f r Technologie der Fertigungsverfahren, Prof. Dr. mult. Fritz Klocke.
