Tea picking began

The Longjing tea-picking has started in Fenghua. The other day, I came to the a tea garden in Phoenix Mountain, a base for well-known tea and found people were picking tea leaves now.

At about 9 oclock in the morning, I entered the tea garden and saw 20 women with a basket on their back were picking tea leaves from the tea trees. A women in her fifties smiled and said, "since the tea buds just came out, they are very thick. But there are not many. I can pick at most 1.5kg a day". It is said that 1kg fresh tea leaves need about 60 thousand tea buds.

Later, I came to the tea factory at the food of the tea garden. I saw three tea makers in white processing the tea leaves and I can feel the fresh fragrance of tea. "It is very important to guarantee the tea quality by airing the tea. It will take about 8 to 12 hours to dry them in the sunny day. If it is rainy, it will take about 12 hours to dry them. It will make the tea soft and more fragrant." The boss of the factory made a cup of tea with the newly made tea: the Longjing tea gradually unfolded in the cup. The leaves are green. The water is clean. When you taste it, you can feel the lasting fragrance. The boss explained that because of the drought in the second half of last year and the cold weather in the past days. The tea did not grow well and the picking time has been postponed for about 5 days than 2014. Since there is not much tea available in the market. Many people come here to buy tea. The daily production of Longjing tea is about 30kg. Because of the increase of labor cost and processing cost, 1kg tea is sold at the price f 3200 yuan, a bit higher than 2014.
