The video will continue to dominate IP traffic, accounting for 82% in 2021 Global IP traffic will be multiplied by three in the next five years, surpassing the 3 Zettabytes in 2021. In Spain there will be 345 billion devices connected in 2021 (7 connections per capita), from 196 million recorded in 2016 (4 connections per capita).

M2M connections will represent more than half of the total number of connections on a global scale and generate 5% of the total number of IP traffic in 2021. Advances in segments of the Internet of Things (IoT) as connected home, connected transportation / intelligent vehicles, connected health, and other new generation M2M services are driving this exponential growth, multiply by 2.4 from 5.800 billion recorded in 2016 to 13,700 million planned for 2021.

With the proliferation of connected applications as drivers of health, medication clinics and early assistance devices, connected health segment will be faster growth (30% year on year increase), followed by connected transport and applications connected City (29% each) on a global scale.
